Won Broadway's 1980 Tony Award as Best Director (Play) for a revival of
"Morning's at Seven." In 1984, a Best Director (Musical) nomination
followed for "The Tap Dance Kid."
He was awarded the 1979 Joseph Jefferson Award for Director of a Play for "Morning's At Seven" at the Academy Festival Theatre in Chicago, Illinois.
He directed Noel Coward's last appearance in London's West End, in Coward's own "Suite In Three Keys" in 1966.
