When Prince Harry and Meghan Markle tie the knot in May, there will undoubtedly be parallels to Prince William and Kate Middleton‘s 2011 nuptials. Although they will both be royal weddings watched by millions, there are quite a few differences between the brothers’ big days.
As the future king, William had to adhere to certain protocol for his wedding day, while Harry and Meghan are able to do things a little bit differently (banana cake, anyone?). And just one week after announcing their engagement, the couple is already proving that their nuptials will be all their own.

Okja (2017) is the second film that costume designer Catherine George has worked on with director Bong Joon-ho. Their first together, Snowpiercer (2013), despite being lauded by critics (and featuring Chris Evans), only received a limited theatrcial run in the U.S. and no release at all in the UK. Unlike Okja, Snowpiercer is an out and out sci-fi fantasy set when most of the world’s population have been wiped out and those who remain live on perpetually moving train. Okja is still a fantasy, it revolves around a little girl Mija (An Seo Hyun) trying to save her giant ‘super pig’ from being harvested as Gm bacon, but is set within our recognisable reality. There are smart phones, cars we know, Instagram and Facebook. However the film has a deliberate otherworldly feel about it. Not quite in the future and not as locked as a parallel universe, but...

Oliver Hirschbiegel’s 2004 drama “Downfall” was the definitive portrait of Adolf Hitler at the end of WWII, examining the dictator during his final days as he ran out of options. It also provided fodder for one of the greatest viral memes of all time — the “Downfall” parody videos, which position fake subtitles over a pivotal scene in which Hitler (Bruno Ganz) lashes out at his staff upon realizing that he’s lost the war. Over the years, Hitler has lashed out over topics ranging from Oasis splitting up to Ben Affleck getting cast as the Batman.
While this wasn’t part of Hirschbiegel’s plan, the video does speak to his skills as a filmmaker, given that the scene is filled with pregnant pauses and sudden bursts of anger that make it the perfect template for so many circumstances.

Minster for digital and culture Matt Hancock has flagged “success, access and synthesis” as the three cornerstone principles of his strategy for the creative industries.
Speaking at a Creative Industries Federation event at London’s BFI Southbank, Hancock urged the creative industries to increase access, arguing that the sector has “a special responsibility to be a force for openness and social mobility in Britain”.
It was the minister’s first speech addressing all of the creative industries since the former paymaster general was appointed to the role in Teresa May’s new cabinet in July.
Hancock pledged to “fight to ensure that the creative and digital industries are at the heart of the government’s industrial strategy”, and backed tax breaks as a success story in growing the sector, crediting the high-end television tax relief in 2013 for “the nascent boom in high quality television dramas”.

Jon Culshaw and Debra Stephenson have made their names with their impressions of the famous faces all around us - and now they're back to provide more familiar voices in ITV's new satirical, topical puppet show Newzoids.
But how is it different from the classic series Spitting Image? Who is the best political leader to impersonate? And why did Michael McIntyre freak out at his impression? Digital Spy sat down with Jon and Debra to find out the answers to all those questions and more...
So how is this not Spitting Image?
Jon: "It's got a 21st century feel to it. It's a different rack of characters which generates a different style of joke. It's faster, somehow. And it just sort of reflects the whole coalition, social media generation. Nowadays, the puppets have got more of a spikiness, more of an edgy exaggeration to them. And of course, the comedy...

The fact that the film had a meager $8 million budget meant that it was a huge cash cow for the studio and rocketed Spielberg to the the forefront of a new generation of filmmakers for a new era of movie mass-consumption. No, according to BBC Radio's 4's first-ever Woman's Hour top 100 list, which named the 100 most powerful women in the U.K. and noticeably passed over the Duchess of Cambridge, calling her "influential" but not "powerful." Surprisingly enough, Kate's grandmother-in-law Queen Elizabeth took the top slot, followed by the U.K.'s Home Secretary Teresa May. Angela Ahrendts, the CEO of Burberry, Victoria Beckham, Adele, Stella McCartney and J.K. Rowling also nabbed spots in the top 100. Bret Easton Ellis doesn't rate women film directors | Rima Fakih, the new Miss USA, once won a pole-dancing contest. Shock horror!
Bret. Easton. Ellis. Sonny, I just don't know where the heck to start with you. The author of American Psycho and Less Than Zero has conducted interviews for Us website Movieline, about the film adaptations of his novels, in the throes of which he has shared his belief that women cannot be good directors. The problem, apparently, is that women lack the crucial "male gaze". This, lest you're confused, involves being "aroused by looking"; women aren't capable of this, he solemnly informs us, because of "how they're built". Hmm, like our bosoms get in the way of our eyes?
Now Bret's a chivalrous kind of guy, so he'll make some exceptions — he really liked Andrea Arnold's Fish Tank, and he kinda dug The Runaways (directed by Floria Sigismondi...
