Beyoncé just made history when she took home the Grammy for best dance/electronic music album for "Renaissance," netting her 32nd Grammy - the most of any artist ever. From the start, Beyoncé's "Renaissance" era has been a celebration of house music, beginning with its lead single, "Break My Soul," which was released in June 2022.
"Break My Soul" features a sample of Robin S.'s house hit "Show Me Love." Before she was sampled on the song, Robin S. was a major hitmaker in the house-music world. Her 1993 track "Show Me Love" was a hit in the early '90s, and her singles "Luv 4 Luv" and "What I Do Best" also topped the charts and helped establish the house genre around the world.

We’ve heard some great new material out of Tchami over the last couple of months, ranging from his recently unveiled collaboration with G-house mastermind Malaa to his bass house tinged single “Siaw.” Following up on those memorable efforts, the Parisian producer delivered his debut essential mix for BBC Radio 1 over the weekend, delivering a top notch two hour set filled to the brim with choice house cuts and undeniable energy.
Tchami delivers big with his first ever essential mix, offering up an endless array of shuffling dance cuts with his go to genre of future house being represented strongly throughout. A number of big name producers grace the playlist, including Disclosure, AC Slater, Malaa, Dusky, Duke Dumont and more, and each song runs seamlessly from one to the next.
There’s no shortage of bouncy basslines and hard driving beats on Tchami‘s latest effort, as he delivers a solid two hour mix.

Future Cinema is back. Would ya just watch the hair!
Garish three-piece suits, lashings of leopard print leotards and dazzlingly kitsch jumpsuits are just a few of the questionable fashion choices you’ll be greeted with when you step through the doors of Odyssey 2001. With the likes of Daft Punk leading a mini revival of disco at the moment, Future Cinema’s funky seventies-themed Saturday Night Fever evenings couldn’t have come at a better time.
Once again giving London’s East End venue Troxy a dazzling cinematic make-over (a similarly impressive feat was achieved there in February with Casablanca) the aforementioned Brooklyn discothèque weekend hangout for the ridiculously coiffured Tony Manero and his buddies has been brought to vivid life once more. Complete with illuminated flooring for the revellers to strut their stuff (spurred on by an enthusiastic, leather-clad DJ), the atmosphere for the evening had an altogether looser...

Athlete Dean Macey and Scrapheap Challenge's Dick Strawbridge won their Celebrity MasterChef heat last night. The duo impressed judges Gregg Wallace and John Torode and edged out fellow contestants Marcus Patrick, singer Kym Mazelle and TV presenter Jennie Bond. In the final challenge, Macey served up scallops on pea puree with smokey bacon for starter, with a main course of steak and chunky chips, alongside a poached egg and cherry tomatoes. Praising the main course, Torode said: "Very nice rare steak. Beefy, almost sweet. A sticky egg on top. Very, very good chips. Seasoned well. Very good!" Baz Luhrmann's sophomore effort, 1996's Romeo + Juliet, is today perhaps best remembered for spotlighting Leonardo DiCaprio's pre-Titanic charisma. For a movie that took the world's best known love story and transferred it to a new era, its soundtrack remains firmly etched in its own time. The movie very much resembles a music video with its fast-paced editing, and the music choices reflect that style. There are scenes where songs are so prominently featured, it's as if Luhrmann first picked out a soundscape, and then went on to visualize it. An extra pleasure gained from listening to the soundtrack is the surprising presence of some tracks that were only briefly featured in the movie, such as the aggressive, seductive material of Butthole Surfers. The film's score, composed by Nellee Hooper, Craig Armstrong, and Marius De Vries, was completely omitted from the first soundtrack album, though it was later...
