He was one of the first black newscasters in Los Angeles, with KCOP-TV
in 1969.
Attended and graduated from the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC).
Following his death, he was interred at Forest Lawn Memorial Park (Hollywood Hills) in Los Angeles, California.
He was posthumously awarded a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for Television at 6620 Hollywood Boulevard in Hollywood, California on October 10, 2002.
