- John McGahern was born on November 12, 1934 in Leitrim, Ireland. He was a writer, known for That They May Face the Rising Sun (2023), Korea (1995) and Amongst Women (1998). He was married to Madeline Green, Annikki Laksi and Anikki Laaki. He died on March 30, 2006 in Dublin, Ireland.
