Has the distinction of being the only Israeli Prime Minister to have
formerly held American Citizenship.
While serving under Israeli Foreign Minister in 1956, PM David
Ben-Gurion suggested she adopt a Hebrew surname. She chose Meir, which
means "to burn brightly."
