Unabashedly earnest, "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." offers the same unassuming charm of its most valuable asset, the still-beating heart of the Marvel Cinematic Universe: Clark Gregg's Agent Phil Coulson. Paired with Ming-Na Wen's steely, enigmatic Melinda May, the affable, competent Coulson leads an oddball crew of operatives weaving around the footfalls of giants. Coulson knows the way, but the transition of Marvel Studios from the big screen to network television isn't without its turbulence.
A New World
In a generous cameo as Agent Maria Hill, Cobie "Not-The-How-i-Met-The-Mama" Smulders posits that the Loki-led Chitauri assault on Manhattan—and the formation of the Avengers to halt it—marked the end of the world. Hill and her colleagues in the Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement (breathe) and Logistics Division shepherd humanity through a new world where people can do the impossible, though no lifetime's consumption of comic book origin...

Happy Labor Day, everyone! We here at Splash Page want to commemorate each and every one of you for working so damn hard all year long. After all, isn't that what Labor day is all about? In honor of this momentous holiday, we've decided to pay our respects to some of the hardest working characters in recent comic book movie history.
Although these characters may not always be in the direct spotlight, they all share equal, if not more, responsibilities with their respective superheroes. Whether it's designing gadgets or following leads, each and every one of these so called "supporting characters" is vastly under-appreciated for the amount of work that they put in on a daily basis. Which we aim to rectify after the jump.

Platoon Review
Platoon is an illuminating yet polarizing journey of one United States Marine Corps private during the Vietnam War, a wartime neophyte who eventually is forced-fed many lessons and conduct edicts, both fortuitous and detrimental ones, dependent upon the situation. Private Chris Taylor (Charlie Sheen)’s two “fathers” during his tour of duty, Sergeant Elias (Willem Dafoe) and Staff Sergeant Barnes (Tom Berenger), create a new version of Private Taylor: weathered, aggressive, and less afraid of his own shadow.
Private Taylor is the classic entry character for script writers: a virtual blank slate through which the experiences of the film are written on. He is the character through which the audience is introduced into the world...
