Sion Michel is an American cinematographer. He is well known for his collaborations with Dion Beebe as Second Unit Director of Photography in the films Memoirs of a Geisha (2005), and Collateral (2004).
Michel has been nominated for a Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Technical Direction, Camerawork, Video for a Miniseries, Movie or a Special for 'Tony Bennett: An American Classic' (2006).
Michel was Second Unit Action Director of Photography on The Player (2015) starring Wesley Snipes.
He was nominated for the Golden Horse Award for Best Cinematography for Run Meng (Like a Dream) (2009)
He studied film at the National Australian Film, Television & Radio School and graduated with a Masters degree in Cinematography in 1991.
Recently, Michel completed principal photography on 'The Old Way' starring Nicolas Cage in Montana.
He lives in Los Angeles.
