Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark is out today on PC, current and next-gen consoles in Europe.
Despite being available in the Us since Tuesday (June 24), only a couple of reviews have appeared online, both giving the game average scores.
A 5/10 Shack News review opens by saying the game is made by Edge of Reality and not High Moon Studios - creator of the acclaimed last few Transformers games - accounting for "some of the magic missing from this sequel".
The review points out repetitive environments and action, technical issues with disappearing characters and frame rate issues, and an "underwhelming" wave-based multiplayer mode.
"Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark isn't a bad game, it's just one that's incredibly sub-par, especially in the face of such brilliant fare that came before," said reviewer Robert Workman.

In If You Build It, a documentary about a high-concept high school product-design class in, of all places, rural North Carolina, director Patrick Creadon collects rich material but builds a rickety structure.
The program is Studio H, led by two enterprising, idealistic architects who are brought to rural Bertie County to inject new life into a stalled community's educational system by a visionary superintendent of schools — who, early in the film, is canned by the stuck-in-the-mud school board, marking the last we see of him.
The board agrees to continue with Studio H only after the designers, Emily Pilloton and Matt Miller, forego any salary. Creadon's great strength here is in his unsentimental introduction of a slice of America often treated with sentim...

Bloomberg anchor Matt Miller thought it would be a great idea to tie in his colleague’s Christmas gift with a story that dominated 2013: the insurgent digital currency, Bitcoin. Miller decided that, as part of the network’s “12 Days of Bitcoin” segment, that he would give his co-anchors, Adam Johnson and Trish Regan, a Bitcoin of their very own. After receiving his coin certificate, Johnson unwittingly provided viewers with a way to steal his Bitcoin online -- a security breach of which they promptly took advantage.

If one needs an example of just how broken the schooling system has become, they may not need to look much further than Bertie County in North Carolina. Students there find themselves stuck behind computer terminals where most of their classes take place online—even phys ed—offering them little chance of interacting with fellow classmates, teachers or the community at large. But all that is about to change. Director Patrick Creadon ("Wordplay," "I.O.U.S.A.") chronicles how Bertie County is changed by the arrival of designer/activists Emily Pilloton and Matt Miller in his forthcoming documentary "If You Build It." The pair work with the students on a year long project that sees them eventually constructing an entire farmers market, which proves to be an inspiring and life-changing endeavor for all involved. But as you'll see in this exclusive clip, highlighting the current educational experience the kids have, Pilloton and Miller...

Several of the films from this year’s Full Frame Documentary Film Festival dealt with themes of community. Two films in particular that focused on question of community were Patrick Creadon’s If You Build It and Jeff Reichert and Farihah Zaman’s Remote Area Medical. In both cases, we are introduced to both the pleasures and the complexities of providing resources — medical or educational — to rural communities that have been neglected in recent years. Ashley Olsen's reported flight from Dallas to Los Angeles was definitely delayed, but it certainly wasn't due to an engine fire. Reports surfaced today claiming that the fashion star narrowly escaped a terrifying plane fire after American Airlines flight 2421 evacuated passengers on the aircraft traveling from Dallas-Fort Worth to Los Angeles. However, American Airlines spokesperson Matt Miller tells E! News that an "electrical odor" caused the issue, and there was no fire, explosion or any smoke that filled the cockpit, contrary to the original TMZ item. All 211 passengers were taken off the plane safely and were placed on a new Boeing 767, which is currently in the air to Lax....

Chicago – The characters of “Superior Donuts” – as brilliantly interpreted by the cast in this production at the Mary-Arrchie Theatre – feel as though they’ve stepped from a Chicago neighborhood and began to perform their lives in the theater.
Play Rating: 4.0/5.0
This is an authentic Chicago play about a fictional donut diner in the neighborhood of Uptown, in a play written by Tracy Letts (”August: Osage County”) and originally performed by local icon Steppenwolf Theatre in 2008. The Mary-Arrchie company, a couple of miles from where the play is set, brings the story home in an setting so intimate that there’s a tendency to want to sit at the counter and order a sinker. Each of the actors communicate their honesty by natural characterizations, to an extent where they create them right at the moment.

Yep, public radio, that leftward bastion of left-leaning liberal leftyness! "Left, Right & Center," Kcrw's politically-themed panel-discussion show, just got weighted quite a bit more to the conservative side, with the addition of noted Gop political consultant Mary Matalin, La Observed reports. Matalin, who is famously married to Democratic political strategist James Carville, will take over -- on an interim basis -- the spot left vacant by the departure of the left-leaning Arianna Huffington. The weekly show currently features the ideologically leftward Robert Scheer, centrist point man Matt Miller, alongside far-right Washington Timeds...
