It’s not that hard to make a sequel to a popular movie. You take the basic formula from the original movie and do all of the same things with slight changes. To make Taken 2 they took just about everything from the original movie and changed it just a little. It wasn’t France it was Turkey, it wasn’t the daughter who was kidnapped it was the mother, it wasn’t about human trafficking it was about revenge. It’s very hard to make a third movie because the audience will make fun of you if you do the exact same things again, the same things they praised you for the first two times they will bury you with the third. Taken 3 tried very hard to find new ground to cover and while they made a very different movie, it’s not a good movie.

Liam Neeson is back as former government operative Bryan Mills in this first look at Taken 3 from USA Today, and these first images also feature Forest Whitaker as Franck Dotzler and (reprising her role from the first two films) Maggie Grace as Kim Mills. Neeson spoke with USA Today about his upcoming movie as well, and you can check out his comments after the pictures. Take a look: Liam Neeson revealed a little about the plot for Taken 3 in his interview with USA Today, and says...

(Cbr) Maggie Grace is about to be "Taken" again — again. At least, she’s about to return to the Liam Neeson action franchise for the upcoming "Taken 3", Deadline reports, reprising her role as Kim Mills. There’s no word on the plot, although Neeson is back on board, and Forest Whitaker has a part to play as well. In other Grace news, the actress has landed a starring role on an untitled new CBS drama focused on the fast-paced and power-hungry world of Wall Street. She’ll star opposite Charlie Cox as a legal counsel named Jaime, described as “smart, ambitious, savvy and has a conscience.” Basically, all of the things Shannon wasn’t on "Lost".

"The Weekend Rent" offers quick-hit suggestions of what to watch at home to get psyched for new releases in theaters, on Fridays. Click on any of the links below to find out how you can watch the movie right now. Maggie Grace is not a female action star in the same way Milla Jovovich and Kate Beckinsale are, but the 29-year-old actress certainly seems to find herself in many adrenalized projects. Grace reprises her role as Kim Mills—the daughter of Liam Neeson's Bryan Mills—in the action thriller Taken 2, now in theaters. This time Kim's reunion with her father is cut short when her mother (Famke Janssen) is abducted and Kim goes on the run. Grace crash-landed into our collective pop-culture consciousness as Shannon Rutherford—one of the...

Chicago – Olivier Megaton’s “Taken 2” is utter nonsense, a film that plays like a cross between Seth MacFarlane spoofing the first film on “Family Guy” and “MacGyver” fan fiction (although nowhere Near as much fun as that might make it sound). Everything that worked about the action-packed “Taken,” a surprising hit and a solid genre flick, has been corrupted here by jump cuts, horrendous plotting, and a complete lack of anything of interest outside of Neeson’s half-engaged performance. It’s truly awful.
Rating: 1.0/5.0
Perhaps the biggest problem with “Taken 2” on a foundational level is that the first film had a common fear with which to play. One could identify with Kim Mills (Maggie Grace), the girl who ventured outside of her comfort zone and was kidnapped. Anyone who can remember the first time they traveled without their parents as a safety net can relate to that fear...

Marketing movies is one part art, one part science and third part sheer luck, as studios forever try to make sure their films both find their intended audience and still have enough appeal for the magical four quadrants. But over at 20th Century Fox, they seem to care less about crafting a campaign, preferring to just show you as much of the movie as possible in advance. Just look at their rollout for "Prometheus" and "X-Men: First Class" in case you need any more proof. And so it goes with "Taken 2" as yet another clip has dropped. This latest one is mostly centered on Kim Mills (Maggie Grace), who gets help from her father, who is being held captive, but still manages a cell phone call out of that dank dungeon. Guess he doesn't have At&T (zing!). And his first bit of instruction to his daughter? Throw an...

There are two ways you can use a Gps. One way is calmly punch in the coordinates and let the little gizmo do its work on the dashboard. The Bryan Mills way -- which only comes into practice when you're being chased Euro thugs -- is to grip the thing in your hands like the jaws of life and furiously punch in details like you were playing "Angry Birds" after drinking a six pack of Red Bull. Welcome to "Taken 2." A new clip has dropped for the sequel, which if anything, shows that Kim Mills has been using her kidnapping experience from the last movie to learn how to be a pretty effective stunt driver. Maneuvering skillfully through the narrow streets of Istanbul, she manages to put Dad into perfect shooting position to kill the bad guys and best of all, he doesn't even have to stand up. It's win-win!

Advice to bad guys: don't underestimate Kim Mills. While you might think her father Bryan Mills is the only one with a special set of skills, that shit is genetic, dog, and it looks like Kim can pretty much do a standing leap from rooftop-to-rooftop. Weclome to "Taken 2: Tooked In Istanbul" where logic and reason go flying out the window. This new clip from the movie has Maggie Grace grabbing some advice from Dad, before escaping some bad dudes across some rooftops. It's pretty badly cut and shot, but no one watches these for visual coherence, they go see it to listen to Liam Neeson growl commands on the phone. We're also wondering why Fox hasn't done a marketing tie-in for motivational tapes voiced by Bryan Mills, because we'd buy those in an instant. Anyway, "Taken 2" lands on October 5th. [JoBlo]...

When credits rolled on 2008′s Taken many viewers might have assumed that it would end up being a self contained one off adventure. Unfortunately it seems that the Mills family and vacations just don’t mix.
After killing a few dozen people to save his daughter when she was abducted on a trip to Paris, Bryan (Liam Neeson) takes his wife (Famke Janssen) and daughter (Maggie Grace) to Istanbul only to encounter angry friends and relatives of the abductors who want some revenge.
A new trailer for the film has been released;
The most interesting thing here is that rather than launching the characters into a completely separate adventure, the sequel is exploring the consequences of the first movie. It’s rather impressive to see an action movie looking at the plot of its previous installment and “yeah those bad guys were killed in a lot of kick ass ways,...

"Your mother and I are about to be taken."
Those are likely the last words that Kim Mills (Maggie Grace) ever wanted to hear again, but they're the ones we've been desperate for ever since "Taken" hit theaters in 2008. Now Liam Neeson is back for more as Bryan Mills, and this time he's the one who's getting kidnapped. A new international trailer for "Taken 2" has hit the web (via ComingSoon.net), and has got us counting down the days until October 5.
What's interesting about "Taken 2" is the fact that it's premise makes a lot of sense for the film franchise, and that it's villains are justified. Bryan killed a whole lot of people in "Taken," so it makes sense that their families would want revenge the same way he did in the first film. Granted, those men he killed ran prostitution rings and sold women like cattle, but...

Bryan Mills is a man with a very particular set of skills, skills that make him a nightmare for men like go-to Serbian bad guy actor Rade Serbedzija. But does Bryan's daughter, the long-ago abducted Kim Mills, possess those same skills? One certainly hope so, since she'll have to transform herself from victim to hero in the upcoming "Taken" sequel.
Actress Maggie Grace spoke with MTV News about "Taken 2" during the recent "Lockout" junket, and she revealed that, yes, Kim's stepped up her game considerably since getting abducted in the first Liam Neeson-starring action thriller.
"Yeah, the character is a bit more empowered in this one," she told MTV. "You know, she doesn't morph into La Femme Nikita. It's still grounded in the reality of that world. But yeah, she is her father's daughter, and she definitely steps up."
She'll have to step up, too, as "Taken 2...

Maggie Grace is all set to reprise her role as Kim Mills in the Taken sequel.
It was announced last month that Liam Neeson would be returning as Bryan Mills in the yet to be titled sequel.
There is no word on any storyline, but since Grace is back as well, it might be similar to the first - but who knows, maybe this time Kim will have to save Bryan?
Olivier Megaton (Transporters 3) is set to direct the sequel and it will come from the same writers as the original.
The first film was released in January 2009 and brought in $226 million dollars worldwide. The film was produced for a mere $25 million - we call that a success!
The sequel is set to hit theaters sometime in 2013.
