- At age 19, she started her movie career in LA with no experience working as a script reader for 'Warren Beatty. In her 2020 memoir "Miss Aluminum," she describes how Beatty and screenwriter Robert Towne "interviewed" her for the job by asking her to lift up her already-short linen skirt to see her legs, after which Beatty responded,. "Can you start tomorrow morning?".
- Her mother died when she was young, and Moore, who'd been raised mostly in Hawaii, returned to Philadelphia at age 17 to live with her grandmother. Soon after, working at an ad agency in New York City, she was dressed as a pseudo-mermaid to appear at a trade show as "Miss Aluminum," a title later re-purposed as that of her 2020 memoir.
