"He's a character the audience will be inspired by." "Ke is easy to be on set with, he keeps happy, chirpy!" Marvel / Disney have dropped in a fun new featurette for Loki - Season 2, the long-awaited continuation of (one of) the best Marvel streaming series. The first season arrived in 2021 during the pandemic and this second season begins in October after a two year wait. It picks up where Season 1 left off and follows Loki & Morbius as they try to figure out why Loki is time slipping. This "Meet O.B." video focuses on the character played by Academy Award winner Ke Huy Quan (who is always a delight to hear from). Tom Hiddleston returns as the God of Mischief for more time fun, with Sophia Di Martino (Sylvie), Gugu Mbatha-Raw (Renslayer), Wunmi Mosaku, Eugene Cordero, Tara Strong (Miss Minutes), Neil Ellice, Jonathan Majors (Victor Timely), and Owen Wilson (Mobius...

DC’s first live-action Latino superhero adventure is a milestone for representation and a solidly entertaining diversion but suffers from overplayed beats
For a long while, there had seemed an endless appetite for superhero stories, crowds rushing to and cheering at exhaustively interconnected adventures of good v evil even as critics started to sour. But in the last year, that bad taste has slowly spread, underwhelming box office showing that there is in fact a limit to how many capes and crusaders audiences can tolerate.
The combined US box office of Black Adam, Shazam 2, Morbius, The Flash and Ant Man 3 couldn’t even rival what the last Spider-Man made in its entire run, the scraping of the superhero barrel loud enough to repel even the most invested of fans. It’s been a particularly rough time for DC (its Batgirl film was canned before it was even finished), rough...

"C'mon, you're the God of Mischief!" "Always have been, always will be." Yes! Finally! Disney has revealed an official trailer for Loki - Season 2, the long-awaited continuation of (one of) the best Marvel streaming series. The first season arrived in 2021 and won everyone over with it's remarkably intelligent journey with Loki through many multiverses and the Tva (Time Variance Authority). This picks up where Season 1 left off and follows Loki & Morbius as they try to figure out why Loki is time slipping. Tom Hiddleston stars as Loki, joined by Sophia Di Martino (Sylvie), Gugu Mbatha-Raw (Renslayer), Wunmi Mosaku (Hunter B-15), Eugene Cordero, Tara Strong (Miss Minutes), Neil Ellice, Jonathan Majors (Victor Timely), and Owen Wilson (Mobius), alongside newcomers in Season 2: Rafael Casal, Kate Dickie, Liz Carr, and Ke Huy Quan (!!). This new season is part of Phase Five of the MCU (if anyone still cares?) and will launch streaming worldwide this October.

The Haunted Mansion at Disneyland may be my favorite attraction at the park. And yes, I’d appreciate a fun movie that brings the ride’s charm to the big screen (read our review). No, that was not the 2003 version. However, the latest feature bringing the “hitchhiking ghosts” to theatres was a good time, with a bit of heart. Justin Simien’s take on Haunted Mansion is an entertaining feature. It’s cute, it’s funny, and some of the ghostly visions are even a little spooky.
A few weeks back, we spoke with Justin about the new film. It’s been a long while since I’d talked to Mr. Simien, and it was terrific to see him again. The filmmaker talked about taking on the film and the many levels of the world-famous attraction that ended up in the movie. We also delved into the performances of Lakeith Stanfield...

It’s been a minute since I visited “The Haunted Mansion” at Disneyland, and almost as long since I watched the Eddie Murphy vehicle that was adapted from the classic theme park attraction in 2003, but I still feel confident that neither of those creepy experiences can match the sheer terror summoned by Justin Simien’s take on the material during its opening credits alone. I’d even go so far as to say that the new “Haunted Mansion” only needs seven little words to establish itself as the spookiest movie of the year, let alone the most spine-tingling version of a dark ride that was designed to make 10-year-olds yelp and giggle with their siblings.
Those words, of course, are: “…and Jared Leto as the Hatbox Ghost.”
Talk about a jump scare! Superimposed over a shot of dark and scary night that barely registers by comparison, that blood-curdling bit of...

We’ve already been treated to Deadpool and Venom joining Marvel’s Midnight Suns, and now you can add Morbius to the fray. The living vampire arrives as part of “The Hunger” Dlc, which includes a new upgrade for the Abbey, and a new three-mission story that sees the living vampire teaming up with the Midnight Suns to stop vampyre threat in New York City.
Morbius is recruited by completing his first story mission “Weird Science,” which becomes playable after completing the main Midnight Suns mission “Spidermaaaans”, and Spider-Man unmasks in the Abbey during Act One. The Dlc also includes several outfits for Morbius, including 3 Additional Hero Skins, 7 Abbey Outfits, and 2 Swimsuits (?!).
In combat, Morbius focuses on applying Bleed to enemies, and then capitalizing on that effect for increased damage. Similar to Captain Marvel, he can enter a “Bloodlust” state after using a few of his abilities, granting him Block...

Blonde and Elvis were among the winners at the 2023 Golden Raspberry Awards.
The awards, known as the Razzies, take place the weekend of the Academy Awards and celebrate the very ‘worst’ in film.
While many of the films nominated did not make it near this year’s Oscars, there is some crossover, with Ana de Armas’s Marilyn Monroe drama Blonde picking up the gong for Worst Picture and Worst Screenplay. De Armas is nominated for Best Actress at the Oscars for her performance in the film.
This year’s Razzies were mired with controversy following backlash for their decision to nominate 12-year-old Firestarter star Ryan Kiera Armstrong for Worst Actress.
Writing in The Independent, Jacob Stolworthy said that “to nominate an Oscar winner, or someone with proven bankable success to their name, is acceptable; to highlight the performance of someone as young as 12 is not just tacky – it’s fairly reprehensible”.

The Golden Raspberry Awards gave itself a trophy for the first time in the ceremony’s 43-year history.
“For nominating someone that should not have been considered, a blunder that was put through the blender and pulverized from one corner of the internet to the other and all media in between, instead of handing out a Worst Actress statuette this year, we’re giving this Razzie to the Razzies,” said announcer Bill A. Jones in a winners’ video, which you can see above.
In January, the Razzies faced backlash for nominating 12-year-old “Firestarter” actress Ryan Kiera Armstrong. In addition to apologizing and raising the minimum age to 18, the awards body replaced her nomination with its own name – and won by “a landslide.”

Blonde has been “honored” with two Golden Raspberry Awards — aka the Razzies — which also bestowed an award upon themselves for the first time in the group’s history.
Andrew Dominik’s film, which led the Razzies with eight nominations, won worst picture of the year along with worst screenplay for Dominik. The Razzies called the film “misogynistic, salacious and fallacious” and said it “shamelessly exploits the memory of the late Marilyn Monroe.”
The Razzie Awards, which honor the worst of the year, are announced annually ahead of the Oscars ceremony, which takes place Sunday. Incidentally, Blonde star Ana de Armas is up for best actress in a leading role at the 2023 Academy Awards.

The Razzies acknowledged the elephant in the room at the 2023 awards – the organization gave itself a dishonor after nominating a 12-year-old for worst actress, sparking internet controversy.

Blonde starring the Oscar-nominated Ana de Armas took the big prize — Worst Picture — as well as Worst Screenplay for writer-director Andrew Dominick among the winners announced for the 43rd annual Razzie Awards.
Tom Hanks, meanwhile, now has two Razzie statuettes to pair with his Oscars.
Hanks, “who’s spent his career stretching his acting capabilities to great success, went a bridge too far with his version of Col. Tom Parker in the otherwise excellent biopic, Elvis,” Razzie organizers said. As a result, he won for Worst Supporting Actor and Worst Screen Combo (for Hanks and his latex face).
It actually could have been worse for Hanks, believe it or not, since he was also nominated in the Worst Actor category for his turn as Geppetto in Disney’s Pinocchio. That category was instead won by Hanks’ fellow Oscar winner Jared Leto for Morbius. Leto’s co-star Adria Arjona received Worst Supporting Actress.

Morbius could endure more than one Razzie award when all is said and done. It feels that a lot of people have jumped on board when it comes to bashing certain movies. The truth is that Morbius did suffer several missteps. From the effects to the actual story, there was a lot of promise since the movie did follow important plot points. But as fans noted, there were many areas where this movie could have been far better. It’s tough to say that the acting was the only problem, but it was deemed one of the more noticeable issues. This

Oliver Wood, the British cinematographer behind "Face/Off," "Morbius," and the original "Bourne" movie trilogy, has died at the age of 80. Variety reports that Wood passed away in his Hollywood home on Monday, February 13, after battling cancer. He is survived by his wife, Sabine, and three children: Katharine, Fiona, and Emerson.
Following early credits on films like William Friedkin's "To Live and Die in L.A." and Leonard Kastle's "The Honeymoon Killers," Wood became the director of photography for one of the most influential TV shows of all time, "Miami Vice," and was behind the camera for 53 episodes in total. From there, he found his niche in the genres of action and comedy, and in the places where they overlapped.

When Spider-man had officially made his Marvel Cinematic Universe appearance in Captain America: Civil War, then teased a subsequent solo outing in the post-credits scene, fans rejoiced that not only was there a refresher from the polarizing Amazing Spider-Man series but the webhead even started his MCU run interacting with other established fan favorites of the Marvel world. Spider-man: Homecoming marked his first solo movie and the Vulture was not only one of the popular comics villain, but he would also be played by Batman himself, Michael Keaton.
Variety has just learned that John Leguizamo was just about to strap the winged suit on when he had to give it up to Keaton. “I was supposed to be the Vulture. We had negotiated and I was about to play him, and they said that Michael Keaton wanted it back and they asked me if I would give it up. I said,...

John Leguizamo, Marvel villain? The actor revealed to ComicBook.com while promoting the home release of “Violent Night” that he “negotiated” to star as the Vulture in the 2017 Marvel Cinematic Universe tentpole “Spider-Man: Homecoming.” While the role was played by Michael Keaton, apparently conversations with him went back and forth enough for Marvel to want to have another actor lined up to take on the villain role.
“I was supposed to be the Vulture,” Leguizamo said. “We had negotiated and I was about to play him, and they said that Michael Keaton wanted it back and they asked me if I would give it up. I said, ‘Well, okay I guess.’ They said, ‘No, we’ll work with you again, we’re gonna…’ That’s what happened there.”
According to Leguizamo, the studio “offered him something tiny” as a consolation for him giving up the larger role of Vulture. “I went,...

The thing with the Spumc – the Sony Pictures Universe of Marvel Characters – is that, while it may not always be pretty, it’s nothing if not unpredictable. One minute you’re scratching your head as you Google a Z-lister comic book deep-cut called El Muerto), the black-and-white, Nazi-fighting, egg-cream-drinking riff on everybody’s favourite Friendly Neighbourhood Spider-Man is set to star in his own series over at Amazon’s Prime Video streaming service.

No one likes censors, but the ones over Fox always seemed to get an especially bad rap — especially back in the '90s. "The Simpsons" killed the Fox censor in the intro to "Treehouse of Horror VIII," and numerous absurd Standards and Practices notes have come to light over the years, including one from Fox Kids' "Spiderman: The Animated Series" which demanded Spidey not "harm the pigeons" when he landed on rooftops.
In fact, "Spiderman: Tas" showrunner John Semper Jr. recalled in an interview how by the time his show debuted in 1994, "there was a Lot of censorship at Fox." The company had seen their mega-popular "Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers" banned in Canada and were more stringent than ever, especially when it came to kids' programming. As Semper recalled:
"When I watch the older episodes of 'Batman' that first aired on Fox, they do all kinds of things that we couldn't do.

Katie Cassidy (Arrow), Devon Sawa (Idle Hands), Kate Bosworth (Blue Crush), Tyrese Gibson (Morbius), and Chris Backus (Mindhunter) lead the cast of the survival thriller Fallout, which recently wrapped production in New Jersey. The movie was directed by Cecil Chambers (Due Season), who also crafted the screenplay with Michael Miceli (The Bounty Hunter).
Fallout tells the story of, yes, “the fallout” when a nuclear threat forces six people into a malfunctioning underground bunker. Tensions soon rise as they fight to stay alive. With oxygen and the trust in each other quickly running out, they learn that a more sinister plan is afoot. It’s interesting to see that the story involves six people being trapped in one location, but only the names of five actors have been announced. Who is the sixth person in that bunker?

Deadline has learned that Shudder and Rlje Films has picked up the movie for their exclusive distribution.

The Razzies have responded to criticism about nominating 12-year-old actor Ryan Kiera Armstrong in the “worst actor” category.
On Monday (23 January), the Razzies – formally known as the Golden Raspberry Awards – announced their nominations for 2023 ahead of the Oscars.
In the worst actor category, the award’s organisers nominated Armstrong for her performance as a pyrokinetic child in Stephen King adaptation Firestarter.
She was nominated in the category alongside actors like Tom Hanks (Pinocchio) and Jared Leto (Morbius).
Soon after hearing the news, many fans attacked the Razzies for being “mean-spirited and classless”.
“The Razzies are already mean-spirited & classless, but to nominate a kid is just repulsive and wrong,” tweeted actor Julian Hilliard. “Why put a kid at risk of increased bullying or worse? Be better.”
Another person added: “The Razzies are extra despicable for nominating a child actor.”

In 2009, Sandra Bullock arrived on stage at the Razzies to collect her award for Worst Actress.
She wasn’t alone. Trailing behind her on a trolley, which she brought to the event herself, was a crate stacked with DVDs of the film for which she’d won her trophy – the admittedly terrible All About Steve.
“We have team Bullock here – who’s not very happy with you guys – and we brought everyone in the audience tonight a DVD of All About Steve,” she told the clearly shocked crowd. “Thank you!” a faceless crowd member shouted, to which Bullock, ever the good sport, quipped: “You say that now.”
While it’s true that her decision to show up was nothing but good press for Bullock, everyone associated with the Razzies would have taken her appearance as a big win. In fact, it was the opposite. Halle Berry was the first star...

Nominations for the 43rd Annual Razzie Awards are in, and they have singled out “Blonde,” Disney’s “Pinocchio,” Machine Gun Kelly’s “Good Mourning” and “Morbius” among 2022’s worst movies.
“Just when you thought it would be safe to return to the movies,” the video announcement warns, before unveiling the nominees for the Golden Raspberry Awards (aka the Razzies) — the winners of which will be revealed on Oscar eve, Saturday, March 11.
Ana de Armas’ “Blonde,” which the Razzies say explores “the exploitation of Marilyn Monroe…by continuing to exploit her posthumously,” led with a whopping eight nominations, including Worst Picture, Andrew Dominik as Worst Director and for Worst Screenplay, and Worse Remake/Rip-Off/Sequel, among others. The film was also recognized for Worst Screen Couple with two nominations, which the Razzies graciously identify as “Andrew Dominik and His Issues with Women” and “Both Real Life Characters in the Fallacious White House Bedroom Scene.

Razzie Awards: ‘Blonde’ Leads Noms With Eight; Tom Hanks Lands Two Mentions for ‘Pinocchio,’ ‘Elvis’
The Golden Raspberry Awards — aka the Razzies — have bestowed Blonde with eight nominations, including worst picture, in their annual picks for the worst films and performances of the year.
In their announcement, Razzie organizers said the movie “‘explores’ the exploitation of Marilyn Monroe…by continuing to exploit her posthumously.” Blonde also landed noms for worst screenplay and worst director for Andrew Dominik, “whose work here says more about him than it does about his subject,” the Razzies said.
Also landing multiple noms are Tom Hanks and Pete Davidson, who are both up for worst actor and worst supporting actor. Hanks was cited for his portrayal of Gepetto in Disney’s Pinocchio and his “latex-laden, ludicrously accented portrayal of Col. Tom Parker in the otherwise critically acclaimed Elvis,” while Davidson was singled out for his voice role in Marmaduke and his cameo in Good Mourning.

If you thought the Razzie Awards learned a lesson last year about bullying, decency and humanity when they graciously rescinded an “award” they’d given to Bruce Willis due to his failing health, you’d be dead wrong. This year’s Golden Raspberry “honorees” include a 12-year-old girl (wait — how is that okay?) in Worst Actress, Ryan Kiera Armstrong (“Firestarter”). Also recognized is movie star Tom Hanks in Worst Actor (“Disney’s Pinocchio”) and Worst Supporting Actor (“Elvis”) — he of course is a two-time Oscar winner for “Philadelphia” (1993) and “Forrest Gump” (1994). Scroll down to see all of the 2023 Razzie Awards nominations.
The biggest film nominee this year is Netflix’s Marilyn Monroe biopic “Blonde,” which scored a jaw-dropping eight bids including Worst Picture and Worst Supporting Actor x2 for Xavier Samuel and Evan Williams. Luckily, Best Actress Oscar hopeful Ana de Armas was spared.

In case you haven't heard by now, "M3GAN" is the moment. Even though the film was one of the first notable releases of 2023, this haunted doll take on the killer artificial intelligence film has been an internet sensation ever since the first trailer dropped. The smart marketing campaign of this film, coupled with the bountiful reaction images and memes of the titular doll dancing along to various songs, feels like a "lightning in a bottle" moment — leading to the relatively low budgeted flick making a killing in its box office debut. The film has now passed 100 million worldwide, and is still going strong.
If you're a real bestie and have been following this film's production, however, you could have probably guessed that the forces of producer James Wan, "Housebound" director Gerard Johnstone, and "Malignant" writer Akela Cooper combined are a horror dream team, and that the internet's obsession with "M3GAN" was only inevitable.

Jared Leto is getting on the Grid.
The Academy Award winner has officially been cast in upcoming “Tron” franchise installment, “Tron: Ares.” Joachim Rønning of “Pirates of the Caribbean” and “Maleficent: Mistress of Evil” fame is currently in negotiations to direct, IndieWire can confirm.
Deadline first reported that “Tron: Ares” will serve as a direct follow-up to “Tron: Legacy,” which marked Jeff Bridges reprising his role from the original 1982 sci-fi film. Garret Hedlund and Olivia Wilde also starred in the Joseph Kosinski-helmed 2010 film. A slated follow-up was scrapped in 2015 that was reportedly set to have Kosinski, Hedlund, and Wilde returning. Leto was rumored to be joining the cast at the time.
“Tron: Ares” is written by Jesse Wigutow and production is set to start in August 2023. “Tron” follows an arcade lover who is trapped in a computer program called the Grid where he is forced to participate in gladiator games to survive.

After years of stops, starts, false alarms, and scrapped iterations, "Tron 3" is finally moving forward at Disney with a new creative team attached. Jared Leto, who has been attached to the project for several years now, has continued to champion it behind the scenes. Apparently, that worked as the Oscar-winner is indeed going to star in the film, with a director and script both in place.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Joachim Rønning is set to direct the film, which is going under the title of "Tron: Ares." It will not, seemingly, be a reboot of the franchise and will, per the report, pick up where "Tron: Legacy" left off more than a decade ago. Jesse Wigutow ("It Runs in the Family") penned the version of the screenplay that is actually, it would seem, going to go before cameras. No word yet on just how soon filming could begin, nor...

This year, we have a plentiful amount of iconic movie monsters who should have all known terribly better, from Michael Myers’ bloody ending to Leatherface’s latest massacre. We’ve got everything from Creepers feasting on human flesh to dinosaurs feasting on…well, the exact same thing. If a fire starting little girl doesn’t spook the life out of you, perhaps’ Robert Zemeckis’ dead eyed wooden boy will send shivers down your spine. And on top of all of that, we’ve got to deal with Covid over in The Bubble and the end of the world as Roland Emmerich (once again) knows it in Moonfall.

Jantje Friese and Baran bo Odar signed an exclusive multiple-year overall deal with Netflix when their sci-fi thriller series Dark proved to be a hit for the streaming service. They managed to tell a complete, three season story with that show. But their next series, the epic mystery horror 1899, didn’t fare so well. In fact, 1899 has been cancelled after just one season.
The series creators confirmed the cancellation on social media, releasing the following statement: “With a heavy heart we have to tell you that 1899 will not be renewed. We would have loved to finish this incredible journey with a 2nd and 3rd season as we did with Dark. But sometimes things don’t turn out the way you planned. That’s life. We know this will disappoint millions of fans out there. But we want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts that...
