- Also known as John "Jack" Morgan, he opened the Cock 'n Bull restaurant and pub on the Sunset Strip in 1937. It was there, in 1941 or '42, that he co-created the Moscow Mule. The famous Mule lives on even in the 21st century, but the restaurant closed in 1987.
