Party winning 212 of out 282 seats in the Canadian House of Commons. To
date, this is largest majority won by any political party leader in
Canadian history.
His favorite song was "Mais qu'est-ce que j'ai ?" which was written in 1947 by Henri Betti (music) and Édith Piaf (lyrics). During his funeral on March 23, 2024, his granddaughter Elizabeth Theodora Lapham sang the song at the Notre-Dame Basilica in Montreal.
