Game Show Network is bulking up its stable of original series, adding three new strip series to its lineup. As announced on Tuesday morning as part of its 2024 upfronts pitch to advertisers, Game Show Network revealed it has ordered a new version of classic gamer “Tic Tac Dough,” this time hosted by Brooke Burns, as well as a U.S. version of the U.K. format “Beat the Bridge,” to be hosted by Cameron Mathison.
Also at Gsn, the network will air episodes of the recently announced syndicated game show “Flip Side,” hosted by Jaleel White (“Family Matters”). News comes as Game Show Network also recently launched the comedy gamer “Blank Slate,” hosted by Mario Lopez, in January, as well as new episodes of “Split Second,” hosted by John Michael Higgins, and “Switch,” hosted by Jeff Hephner.
“Beat the Bridge” will premiere in June, with “Tic Tac Dough” in August and “Flip Side” in September.

Game Show Network is gearing up to premiere three new original series this year: Beat The Bridge, hosted by Cameron Mathison, based on BBC’s Bridge of Lies, in June; Tic Tac Dough, hosted by Brooke Burns, in August and previously announced Jaleel White-hosted Flip Side, which is launching in national syndication, in September. The news was announced by Gsn as part of Sony Pictures Television Advertiser Sales upfront today in New York City.
Hosted by Mathison, based on BBC’s Bridge Of Lies from Stv Studios, Beat The Bridge features an enormous interactive bridge that dares players to cross by stepping on the right answers to challenging trivia questions. Each step forward puts money in the team’s bank, with bonus money for each successful crossing. However, the team gets to keep the money only if it can “beat the bridge” by returning one...

In a year when all of entertainment was turned upside down, nobody saw it coming: The hottest property in daytime TV as America went on lockdown was a 62-year-old career politician holding court in Albany, N.Y.
On March 2, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo conducted a media briefing in an effort to spread vital news and information about the coronavirus outbreak that was just starting to be recognized as a massive public health threat. With fear across the country spiking, Cuomo’s briefing was carried live by New York’s local TV stations — and nationally on CNN and other news outlets.
That 12-minute introduction, part of a 34-minute session with other state leaders, was the first of 111 consecutive daily briefings for New Yorkers and the wider world about the grim progress of the worst pandemic to hit the U.S. in a century. Cuomo became the most unlikely TV star...

Yet another YouTube star is set to launch a series on Facebook Watch -- the social network’s just-launched video destination. Sexologist and influencer Shannon Boodram, who counts roughly 280,000 subscribers and 20 million lifetime views on her Shan Boody YouTube channel (and less than 10,000 followers on Facebook), will headline Make Up Or Break Up, which debuted yesterday.
The live and interactive social experiment -- produced by Thumb Candy Media and executive produced by showrunner Corin Nelson -- will enable viewers to help couples make crucial decisions about whether to stay together or break up in real-time. And this isn’t the first time that Boodram has teamed with an emerging video hub on a relationship-themed series: she also starred in Fullscreen’s Shan Boody Is Your Perfect Date, comprising various dating experiments.

Queen Latifah's talk show debuted just one day ago, on Monday, Sept. 16, but it's already a big success, ratings-wise. The first episode, which featured an appearance by actor John Travolta and a performance by Will Smith's daughter Willow Smith, posted the highest-rated daytime television premiere of the year, and the second highest-rated premiere since 2009, when The Dr. Oz Show made its debut. "It's incredibly exciting to see such a positive response to the show we've been crafting for the past year," Executive Producer Corin Nelson [...]...

Diane Haithman contributes to Deadline’s TCA coverage. At today’s TCA conference on the Sony lot introducing her new daytme talk show, Queen Latifah said she had “already invited the Prez and Mrs.” to be guests on the show during a visit to the White House. Latifah did not say whether Potus and the first lady had agreed or declined to make an appearance on The Queen Latifah Show, which makes its debut September 16. The new talk host added bluntly when asked if she could see herself tapping her friends in show biz as guests: “Yes, I can picture myself doing that. I just know this is going to be the place where they want to come.” Appearing on the panel with executive producers Jada Pinkett Smith (Will Smith is a producer) and Corin Nelson, Latifah et al also fielded a few cracks about whether the ubiquitous Willow Smith...

Exclusive: Sony Pictures TV‘s The Queen Latifah Show is now a go for a fall 2013 launch. I’ve learned that, in a competitive situation, the daily syndicated talk show, executive produced by Latifah, Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith, has gone to the CBS TV Stations in a premium deal that will have the strip on the 16 CBS Owned & Operated stations. The Queen Latifah Show will feature celebrity interviews, human interest stories, comedy, pop culture and musical performances. It is expected to showcase Queen Latifah’s talents, blending comedy and music into her hosting duties. Shortly after the dust settled on this fall’s syndicated daytime talk show launches that failed to produce a breakout hit, Sony TV began conversations with station groups about the Queen Latifah talker, garnering interest from multiples places. I hear negotiations went down to the wire with the CBS and NBC station groups. The...

Oprah Winfrey's favorite interior designer, Nate Berkus, will soon be available for other projects. His daytime talk series, The Nate Berkus Show, has been cancelled after two seasons on the air.
The decorating series -- often referred to as The Nate Show -- debuted September 13, 2010 in syndication. Despite having a loyal following, the Berkus show didn't catch on with a big enough audience.
