Jack Nicholson’s daughter Tessa Gourin is speaking out about her estranged relationship with her famous father.
Since the 28-year-old actress was young, her mother, actress Jennine Gourin, told her “not to tell anyone that I have this famous dad,” Gourin recently told The Daily Beast.
“I knew he was powerful and Daddy Warbucks-level rich, so I kind of equated my life to being like Orphan Annie’s,” she told the publication, referring to the 1932 film “Little Orphan Annie”.
Gourin claimed that, as a child, Nicholson, who has never publicly acknowledged her as his daughter, “wasn’t interested” in having a relationship with her. While she refused to go into detail about her childhood, she did mention that her father, now 85, paid for her early education.

No one who was on the set will ever forget the day The Joker freaked out. With his face frozen in grotesque makeup, he suddenly started screaming that his deal was fraudulent, his director was unprepared, his dialogue was stilted and he was quitting the doomed show. He kept shouting expletives for over two hours to anyone who would listen, then marched off the set.
Observers agreed the movie would never be completed. Except The Joker, in this instance, was Jack Nicholson who, while quirky and volatile, was also the consummate pro. Batman, circa 1989, was not only completed (Nicholson’s performance became even more fervid) but ultimately established itself as a billion-dollar franchise. And Nicholson’s deal, already generous, was re-negotiated to create an ultimate payoff of roughly $50 million, including participations in Batman profits and merchandising.

Exclusive: Deadline's Nellie Andreeva back on June 10th reported that this was happening -- and it's taken this long. As one of Bob Greenblatt's closest friends, 20th Century Fox Television Evp Jennifer Nicholson Salke had been expected to join him at NBC since before he even officially started at the network. Now she's signed on the dotted line to become NBC Entertainment President under Greenblatt, the entertainment chairman. We hear there should be an announcement this week -- but Nellie previously reported that, behind the scenes, Salke already has been involved in some NBC decisions in a consulting capacity. For instance, Salke and Greenblatt together recently approached Peter Traugott and made Universal Media Studios' first major pod deal with him. Also, this past season, Salke fielded two 20th TV projects that Greenblatt picked up to series for next season: dramas The Playboy Club and Awake. Even though Salke still...

In Universal Media Studios' first major pod deal under new NBC chairman Bob Greenblatt, the studio has signed a three-year overall pact with former Brillstein Entertainment Partners President of Television Peter Traugott. The agreement had been in the works for the past couple of weeks. Traugott will develop and produce scripted comedy and drama series for NBC and other networks through a newly launched production company. Joining him in the new company will be another senor Bep TV executive, Evp Rachel Kaplan. I hear Traugott, who worked with Greenblatt at Fox years ago, was the first producer Greenblatt and his new top lieutenant Jennifer Nicholson Salke approached about joining the studio. "Peter is a widely respected and successful executive and producer with a savvy instinct for exceptional television," said Greenblatt. "I’m thrilled that he wanted to join our re-emerging studio at NBC." Traugott called leaving Brillstein "a very tough decision.

As one of Bob Greenblatt's closest friends, 20th Century Fox Television's Evp Jennifer Nicholson Salke had been rumored about joining him at NBC since before he even officially started at the network. I hear the deal between her and NBC is still far from being done, but it is expected to close. She would serve in an entertainment president capacity under entertainment chairman Greenblatt and may also have oversight of Ums. Nicholson Salke, who has continued to fulfill her duties at 20th TV, today is going on vacation, and many believe that she would move to NBC shortly after she comes back. I hear that behind the scenes, she has already been involved in some NBC decisions in a consulting capacity. Nicholson Salke still has another year or so on her contract at 20th TV, but I hear that the studio's chairmen Dana Walden, who is a close friend,...

Exclusive: NBC chairman Bob Greenblatt didn't want to make major changes to his development team until after the upfronts next month. But I hear at least one move is already in the works: that NBC's head of comedy Jeff Ingold is expected to leave the network, and hot Sony TV comedy executive Tal Rabinowitz is in line to replace him. Also it's looking increasingly likely that 20th Century Fox TV Evp Jennifer Nicholson Salke could join her close friend Greenblatt at NBC as entertainment president after the upfronts. Rabinowitz has been VP comedy at Sony TV and a rising star at the studio, overseeing some of the highest-profile comedy projects including The Big C, one of the last series developed and picked up by Greenblatt while he was entertainment president at Showtime. In addition to comedy, Rabinowitz has overseen digital development and programming for Sony. She started her career at the weblet WB.

The most buzzed-about new comedies of the fall, ABC's "Modern Family" and NBC's "Community," are single-camera shows. And all major comedy-series Emmys for the past two years have gone to single-camera shows.
But multicamera comedies are hotter than they have been in years. They dominated early pitch sales in the summer, sparking heated bidding and landing major commitments.
Of the comedy projects with production commitments so far this season, only Greg Garcia's "Keep Hope Alive" at Fox is single-camera. A number of production commitments have gone to multicamera projects, including Mark Brazill's "The Rednecks & Romeos" at Fox, Matt Tarses' "True Love" at CBS and Cathy Yuspa and Josh Goldsmith's "18 Years" at ABC, with several more pending.
"Multicamera comedy is absolutely making a comeback this development season," said Glenn Adilman, head of comedy at Sony TV, which is behind a number of high-profile new multicamera projects, including "True Love" and "18 Years.

20th Century Fox Television is completing the realignment of its top-tier management team by signing a deal with executive vp business and legal affairs Howard Kurtzman, whose responsibilities are being expanded.
In a similar move on the creative side, the studio recently upped head of drama development Jennifer Nicholson Salke to the newly created position of executive vp creative affairs, expanding her role to oversee drama and comedy development at the studio.
Reporting to her are senior vp Patrick Moran, who was named head of the drama department, and senior vp Jonathan Davis, who was recruited from sister network Fox to lead the comedy department.
The elevation of Kurtzman and Nicholson Salke solidifies the duo's position as 20th TV chairmen Dana Walden and Gary Newman's top lieutenants in the business and creative areas. When Walden and Newman were named chairmen in July, the two said they would shift their focus from the day-to-day development efforts at the studio to such areas as digital content and new economic models.

In a major executive reshuffling at 20th Century Fox TV, executive vp drama development Jennifer Nicholson-Salke is being upped to oversee both drama and comedy development at the studio.
Senior vp drama Patrick Moran is being named head of the studio's drama department. Jonathan Davis, vp comedy development at sister network Fox Broadcasting Co., is coming to 20th TV as senior vp and head of the comedy department.
Davis will replace 20th TV's senior vp comedy Quan Phung, whose deal is up and is not being renewed.
The restructuring follows the July elevation of 20th TV toppers Dana Walden and Gary Newman to chairmen.
At the time, the two said they will shift their focus a bit from the day-to-day development efforts at the studio to focus on new areas such as digital content and developing new economic models.
Nicholson-Salke, a rising star at 20th TV, was promoted to exec vp drama in May 2006, when she inked a new two-year deal with the studio, which has an option for a third year.
