Fashion retailer White House|Black Market is hoping to see its designs in the White House. In honor of January's inauguration, the all white and black clothing merchant is converting its Union Square store in Washington, D.C. as "Inaugural Dress Headquarters."
"Back in June, we were thrust into the spotlight when Mrs. Obama wore us on 'The View,' and since then we've been on a journey with her and we wanted to take her to the inauguration," said White House|Black Market's brand president Donna Noce. "Our tag line is 'From Our White House to Yours.'"
Upon wearing the White House|Black Market item on the popular daytime show, the black-and-white Donna Ricco designed dress flew off store shelves as well as online, while they frantically tried to make thousands more to meet demand. The store is hoping any kind of affiliation with the real White House will bring them the green.
