"I want you to be careful around him." Lionsgate has released the first official trailer for a badass new sci-fi action film titled Kin, from filmmaker brothers Jonathan Baker & Josh Baker. You may recognize this because it's a feature-length version of their short film Bag Man, which we featured here back in 2014 when it first debuted. Kin is about an ex-con and his adopted brother who go on the run with a deadly, awesome, futuristic weapon. Jack Reynor and Myles Truitt star, and the film's impressive full cast includes Carrie Coon, James Franco, Zoë Kravitz, Dennis Quaid, and Romano Orzari. This footage looks great and I'm so down for this. I'm also very happy to see another sci-fi short we wrote about previously turned into a movie that looks so cool, it's always an exciting success story in the movie biz. Fire up the first trailer below. Here's the first...

Over a decade since his last directorial effort, director Gaurav Seth is back with what seems like an interesting sci-fi thriller.
Prisoner X stars Michelle Nolden as Carmen Reese, a CIA agent who arrives at a secret underground prison where she is to interrogate a captured terrorist thought to be tied to a number of attacks. Turns out he is one of a group of 98 time-travelling agents from the future with the rest still at large and ready to wreak havoc at any moment. Along with Nolden, the movie also stars Romano Orzari, Damon Runyan, and Julian Richings.
The concept of time-travelling terrorists seems to be a current fad - particularly on TV. "Continuum" recently wrapped its run while "Travellers" is currently preparing for season 2. I'm a fan of both of those shows, the [Continued ...]...

Taken's Bryan Mills (Clive Standen) has a particular set of skills, one of them being giving great speeches. One of those speeches will finally be delivered during the Taken season one finale on NBC tonight, May 1. In the finale, "I Surrender," Bryan's girlfriend Asha (Brooklyn Sudano) is taken captive by Carlos Mejia (Romano Ozari). She's then put on the phone to plea for her life and Bryan's help; Bryan launches the prequel to his "particular set of skills speech." "I know that he's there with you. I know that he can hear me. I need you to listen very carefully. I am coming. I will find you. And I will find him. And there's nothing he or anyone else can do to stop me now....

In this morning's round-up, we have a Q&A with Casper Van Dien from the supernatural horror film, June. Also: details on Dracula's prop auction, XLrator Media's 24 Hour Rental, a video tribute to Friday the 13th Part VIII called "Voorhees Stomp", a new poster for The Hexecutioners, and release details for Krampus: The Reckoning.
Casper Van Dien Q&A: "June tells the story of nine-year-old June (Brice) who has been shuffled in and out of foster homes for years. And though she tries to be good, no matter where she goes, a trail of chaos and terror seems to follow. It’s only when June is sent to live with a new couple, Lily (Pratt) and Dave (Van Dien), that it looks as if things might finally work out. Except this innocent child with the face of an angel is possessed by an ancient, malevolent entity that has hijacked her soul.

They will release the show on Hulu on October 30th then expand to other platforms in 2016. 24 Hour Rental follows former Mafia boss Tracker (Romano Orzari), who having barely avoided early retirement in a shallow grave, now operates a seedy video store. Struggling to stay afloat in the Internet age, Tracker runs his shop as a front for a host of petty crimes, from fencing jewelry to peddling dope cut with Drano and desperation, all in hopes of returning to power.24 Hour Rental was directed by George Mihalka (My Bloody Valentine). He co-wrote teh show with Al Kratina. Romano Orzari (Turbo Kid) stars as Tracker. Joining him is Adam...

"Find them, kill them..." Throw on a poncho, you're about to get splattered with fake blood. If you haven't seen the trailer for this film, and you can stand buckets of blood, you need to watch it. Turbo Kid was one of the films playing in the Midnight category at Sundance this year, and while I never got to see it myself, I heard that it was pretty crazy. This trailer finally lets us in on just how insane it is, with gore like no other in a retro unrated action movie gone mad. The film stars Munro Chambers, Laurence Leboeuf, Michael Ironside, Edwin Wright, Aaron Jeffery and Romano Orzari. This seems kind of like a low budget splatter version of Scott Pilgrim, though SlashFilm said it's "like no other film in the last decade". Fire it up! Here's the trailer for François Simard, Anouk Whissell & Yoann-Karl Whissell's Turbo Kid,...

Turbo Kid Trailers and Clip. François Simard‘s Turbo Kid (2015) movie trailers, movie clip entitled “The Blender” star Munro Chambers, Laurence Leboeuf, Michael Ironside, Edwin Wright, and Aaron Jeffery. Turbo Kid‘s plot synopsis: “It’s 1997. In a ruined post-apocalyptic world, the orphaned Kid survives on his own through drought-ridden nuclear winter, traversing the Wasteland on his BMX, scavenging for scraps to trade for a scant supply of water. When his perpetually chipper, pink-haired new best friend Apple is kidnapped by a minion of evil overlord Zeus, the Kid summons the courage of his comic book hero and prepares to deliver turbocharged justice to Zeus, his buzzsaw-handed sidekick Skeletron, and their vicious masked army.”
This movie looks very fun, full retro goodness, very much in the vain of Kung Fury and Planet Terror.
Turbo Kid also stars Romano Orzari, Evan Manoukian, Anouk Whissell, François Simard, and Tyler Hall.

Late last night on The Super Channel, Reel One unleashed its new pitch black comedy, 24 Hour Rental upon an unsuspecting world. Described as a “no-holds-barred, deviant gangster satire” the series is produced and directed by George Mihalka, and stars Romano Orzari as Tracker, a gangster heavily in debt to the Russian Mob trying to make ends meet. He runs a seedy video store that serves as a front for petty crimes and soon gets caught up in a series of increasingly bizarre events involving drug addicts, surly video store clerks, mobsters, Satanists, rude customers and Black Magic murderers. 24 Hour Rental was written by former Sound on Sight contributor, Al Kratina, who just may have been inspired by his time working at the very same video store that gave birth to this website. I talked to Al recently and demanded that he explain himself.

Festival du Nouveau Cinema ’12: ‘Uncontrollable’ teases the viewer with potential but ends up a bore
Uncontrollable
Directed by Eugene Garcia
Written by Eugene Garcia
Canada, 2012
It can’t be very easy working in Canadian film, an industry whose unfortunate stagnation has prevented it from reaching the heights of audience-wide and even critical recognition many of its ardent defenders would love to see it earn. Be it of the commercial or art house variety, Canadian film, notwithstanding the obvious exceptions (David Cronenberg, his son Brendan, Sarah Polley), simply does not glow as brightly as it could. Montrealer and staunchly independent minded filmmaker Eugene Garcia, understood to be something of a regular at the Festival du Nouveau Cinema, brings his latest to the festival, Uncontrollable, offering any curious viewers a look inside the quirky world of a desperate writer finding inspiration in a man whose fate is just as desperate if not more so.
Daniel Delgao (played by the director himself, Eugene Garcia) is in a rough spot in his life.

American fans of the TV series Durham County no longer need to come to Canada to buy the second season on DVD. Mike Sweeney (Hugh Dillon) got promoted; Ray Prager (Romano Orzari) is in prison because of his murder attempt on Sadie (Laurence Leboeuf), Mike's daughter; and Sadie is still reeling from her traumatizing encounter with Ray. The big screen is becoming a regular battleground for the gods and monsters of Greek myth.
Not only are we getting a sequel to Clash of the Titans - directed this time by Jonathan Liebesman - but director Tarsem Singh (The Cell, The Fall) is giving us his own reimagining of the classic tales of the ancient world in Immortals.
Relativity Media and distributors Universal have now booked a release date of November 11, 2011 - yes, that's 11/11/11 - to unveil Singh's 3D mythological adventure.
Now in post-production, it stars Mickey Rourke as King Hyperion (pictured below), Kellan Lutz as Poseidon, Henry Cavill as Theseus (pictured above), Stephen Dorff as Stavros and Freida Pinto as the oracle Phaedra.
Also in the cast are John Hurt as the older Zeus, Isabel Lucas as Athena, Steve Byers as Heracles, Daniel Sharman as Ares, Corey Sevier as Apollo, Romano Orzari as Icarus and Robert Maillet as the Minotaur.

Despite being the most violent and darkest crime TV series you're very likely to see, Durham County finds a magic way to put substance over grittiness. Besides, the show contains the best performance I've ever seen in crime dramas.

Sometimes, urban dramas try to have so much sub plots that it becomes next to impossible to make a link between them. However, this isn't the case with Jim Donovan's lovely film 3 saisons, which takes place in Montreal. The film owes its quality not only to the cast's performance, but also to the way Donovan links 3 saisons's three different sub-plots.First of all, Carmine (Romano Orzari), a wealthy publicist, and Sasha (Caroline Néron), an actress stuck in playing in commercials, know that they want a child. The news that Sasha is pregnant should elate the couple. Unfortunately, behind their image of a happy couple, Carmine and Sasha might divorce. Besides, Sasha contemplates aborting her child, because she feels that Carmine cheats on her.

We already wrote some stuff about War of the Gods and Dawn of War, but we’re here now to write some interesting things about an upcoming mythology-spectacle titled Immortals! That’s confusing, right?
