George Paige(I)
- Producer
- Executive
George received his Bachelors Degree in Journalism from Rider University and Masters Degree (Ed.M) in Educational Media from Temple University - beginning an academic career as a high school teacher at Notre Dame HS then on to become a college instructor at Salem University in Massachusetts. Following a stint at Salem U, George eventually moved to Sugarbush, Vermont where he juggled his passion for snow skiing (as a professional ski instructor and producer of a series of instructional videos for the United States Ski And Snowboard Team), and his career in academia.
While teaching Educational Media in graduate school at the University of Vermont, George's career path was drastically altered after helping musician friends in a local band open for Texas superstar-guitar-player Johnny Winter and his Band. George spontaneously left the University and began a new career in the music business traveling as Johnny Winter's sound mixer, then on to become road manager for Edgar Winter, then eventually into management, concert promoter and record promotion. George went on to work with music artists including Aerosmith, Bob Marley, Bonnie Raitt, The Go Go's, The Police and others. George was responsible for fulfilling Bob Marley's long-time wish - to place a song in the Top Ten Pop charts rather then the R&B charts where Marley often found his music. George, working side-by-side nationally with Bob, his management team and radio stations across the U.S. eventually landed "Could You Be Loved" in Billboard's Top Ten Pop charts.
After a spell in the music biz, George decided to return to academia and his teaching position at the University of Vermont. As fate would have it, following a chance meeting on the ski slopes with the head of a Hollywood production company and an offer to run his NYC offices, George once again, left academia for what would become his final career choice.
In this chance meeting, George saw an opportunity to inspire on a larger scale, and accepted and began his second career path going on to become an award-winning television and film producer. George's first production was "The Doors: Dance on Fire" for MCA/Universal Home Entertainment and HBO. Following The Doors production, George produced the series "Motown on Showtime " featuring the flagship episode "Michael Jackson: The Legend Continues" which eventually him to Los Angeles and a long-time residence in Malibu, California.
