As production manager, Roselyn Parker was responsible for finding what the director wanted and keeping to the budget set by the production associate. She would then create the film schedule and make sure the director keeps to that schedule, remain on budget.
On location, she managed the availability of all services, from catering and toilets, to the production vehicles and design departments. If production had fallen behind schedule because of weather conditions and unscheduled late-night filming is required to complete the scenes, it would have been her responsibility to persuade cast and crew alike to stay after hours to get the production back on track and for filming to continue. Arranging extra food to be on hand for the additional filming would also be responsibility. As a production reaches the studio, the production manager becomes the floor manger and literally 'calls the shots' for the director on the studio floor.
