Andrew Parkinson's (Little Deaths) first three films - I, Zombie; Dead Creatures; Venus Drowning - are getting a proper North American release on February 18th from Jinga Films, and we have the details here.
From the Press Release:
Collectors of rare horror DVD's are in for a real treat as Jinga prepares to release a trilogy of body horror films by veteran UK genre filmmaker Andrew Parkinson on February 18, 2014.
Recognized as one of the founding fathers of the 1990's British horror revival, the writer/director has re-mastered each DVD and packed it with added value, including behind-the-scenes footage and commentaries. Moreover, the trilogy includes the previously unreleased Venus Drowning, which received acclaim at Fantastic Fest in Austin.
I, Zombie: While on a trip to the countryside, a young man is bitten by a stranger. When he returns to the city, a slow degeneration begins. In order to survive he must eat human flesh.

Horror anthologies are becoming a popular trend in film nowadays, so it's nice to see one of the early ones finally getting a DVD release. Little Deaths is a trio of films directed by UK's Sean Hogan (Lie Still), Andrew Parkinson (Venus Drowning) and Simon Rumley (Red White & Blue). The theme connecting the three films is pretty loose: sex and death. Hogan's "House and Home" has a seemingly good samaritan couple take in a homeless girl, only to reveal their true sinister intentions, which may not turn out as they planned; Parkinson's "Mutant Tool" is about a former drug addict trying to straighten her life out, who is haunted by drug-induced nightmares of a caged man with a rather large, em, 'tool'; and Rumley's...

*full disclosure: a DVD screener of this film was provided by Image Entertainment.
Directors/writers: Sean Hogan, Andrew Parkinson, and Simon Rumley.
The British contribution to horror cinema has always been unique. Whether the contribution is from Hammer Films or a creative mind like Clive Barker, true innovators who frequently contribute to the scene are few and far between. While the last decade had many one hit wonders from the creative direction of Danny Boyle (28 Days Later) and Edgar Wright (Shaun of the Dead), Little Deaths may very well introduce new up-and-comers into the collective.
This product offers a unique set of vignettes that brings recollections of a few lesser-known styles of cinema horror back into the limelight. The hope is that these writer/directors will have more to come in the next few years.

Little Deaths is a nasty little British horror anthology composed of three disturbing tales intertwined around such themes of sex, death and relationships.
Make no mistake, this is definitely not for everyone – this gruesome and gory trilogy displays quite graphic and extreme sexual content that will probably test even the seasoned horror film buff.
That being said, let’s dive right in, shall we?
The first entry is writer/director Sean Hogan’s House & Home, which follows disturbed, rich and religious husband and wife, Richard (Luke De Lacy) & Victoria (Siubhan Harrison), as they prey on a homeless woman, aptly titled Sorrow (Holly Lucas), with the intent of capturing, using and abusing her for their own sexual satisfaction.
What follows is revolting and vile, as we are forced to bear witness to husband and wife gleefully tormenting their victim and enjoying themselves all too much.

Get set, Dreadheads; Image Entertainment is about to release the critically acclaimed horror anthology Little Deaths (review here) on unrated DVD. Directed by the UK filmmaking trio of Andrew Parkinson, Sean Hogan and Simon Rumley, the flick features three titillating and depraved tales of sex, power and retribution, all exploring just what can happen when these universal themes are violated in unspeakable ways.
Dread Central recently chatted with writer/director Rumley regarding his contribution to Little Deaths, the sado-masochistic love story "Bitch," which is centered around the relationship of strong-willed receptionist Claire (Kate Braithwaite) and her docile and obedient boyfriend Pete (Tom Sawyer), whom she literally treats like a dog. Eventually Claire’s sexual games become more than Pete can bear, and the tormented boyfriend sets in motion a series of events meant to give Claire the ultimate taste of her own medicine. I always feel bad for the actors in movies like Little Deaths (Image Entertainment, out Dec. 13 on DVD). A movie like Shame, which debuted to much fanfare over the weekend and featured a full-frontal Michael Fassbender, can pad its graphic nudity and otherwise twisted look at human sexuality with a classy high gloss style and pass it off as Academy Award bait. On the other hand, the folks in Human Centipede II: Full Sequence can’t really use the excuse that they engaged in terrifying on-screen bodily fluid swapping as a means to further the artistic merit of the piece. Although, sometimes exploitation for exploitations’ sake can very well qualify as its own form of art, as one could argue with Centipede.
Which brings me to Little Deaths, a horror anthology film that revels in its depiction of bodily torment and the gushing of all manner of fluids. The artistic...

After hanging in and around the UK for a year or so, directors Andrew Parkinson, Sean Hogan and Simon Rumley’s horror-tinged anthology “Little Deaths” is finally headed to the United States this December. Are you excited? You probably should be, especially if you enjoy bite-sized stories packaged into one cohesive cinematic experience. Of course, I haven’t seen “Little Deaths” for myself, so it could be one of the worst motion pictures to ever crawl across the pond. However, word of mouth surrounding this title has been pretty strong, so I’m kind of excited for it to make its way onto my television screen next month. I cant wait! Have a look at the official plot synopsis: Well-to-do home owners Richard and Victoria pose as religious do-gooders and lure homeless girls to their luxurious home. Apartment dwellers Claire and Pete invigorate their love life with a role-playing game with increasingly hazy boundaries.

Monster Brawl
Director/writer: Jesse T. Cook

Starring: Dave Foley, Art Hindle, Robert Maillet, Kevin Nash, Jimmy Hart, Herb Dean
The writer and director of 2008's horror flick Scarce, Jesse T. Eight of the most powerful ghouls of all time from all four corners of the earth come together and are structured into “two conferences” with middle and heavy weight “monsters” and “creatures”, such as “Witch Bitch”. An American TV show set-up is quickly established with presenter, Buzz Chambers hosting from a secret cemetery location.

Little Deaths is a horror anthology that features three films involving sex and death. There is a story of homeowners luring desperate women to a warm house, which they will never leave again. In another story, a former pimp and prostitute try to play it straight to moderate success. And finally, another couple enjoys a sexually themed role playing game that pushes things a little too far. Montreal's Fantasia International Film Festival turns 15 years old this summer, and sandwiched between the official opening and closing films - Kevin Smith's horror bow Red State and the Guillermo del Toro-scripted and -produced remake of 1973's Don't Be Afraid of The Dark, respectively - will be more than 120 features, 240 short films, 110 invited guests hosting screenings of their films, and numerous special events including the bestowing of lifetime achievement awards and round table discussions. Until only a few days ago, the most I knew about Little Deaths is that it had played this year’s SXSW festival amongst a plethora of other genre films that garnered as much, if not a whole lot more, attention than it did. In all honesty, in the time between the festival and up until about a week ago, I had all but forgotten that the film even existed. It was recently brought back to my attention due to the involvement of one of my favorite voices in independent cinema today: Simon Rumley. Rumley is far from being a household name just yet but he has made two features, both of which garnered some serious attention at international film festivals in the past few years: The Living And The Dead and last year’s rather notoriously dark, Red White & Blue. This film, Little Deaths, holds a distinct position in...

Little Deaths

UK – 2011
The Fantastic Fest Midnighters sidebar at SXSW is a wonderful idea. Austin’s annual Fantastic Festival is certainly one of the most esteemed and well curated genre festivals out there, but programming exclusively to a midnight crowd means occasionally succumbing to your baser instincts. Little Deaths, a horror anthology featuring three British directors shown as a part of this sidebar, seems designed to be assaultive and memorable, and is programmed to drive a midnight crowd wild. But beyond their immediate, and, sure, considerable, shock value, the three shorts here are overlong, underdeveloped, and cruel.
The first short, Sean Hogan’s House & Home, is easily the most frustrating of the three. It opens on a 30-something couple in bed as Victoria (Siubhan Harrison) frigidly dismisses her husband’s (Luke de Lacey) wandering hands. It becomes immediately clear that she...

Semen is the glue that binds the three shorts in Little Deaths.
Coming from three of the new wave of independent British horror directors, Sean Hogan, Andrew Parkinson and Simon Rumley (in order), this anthology travels to dark and depraved areas of the human libido not normally presented on film. I can't lie and say the movie is an overwhelming success, but I must salute the film for daring to push normally fig-leafed buttons.
The three shorts roll in ascending order of quality. The first is a meditation of the bourgeois class' mastication of indigent people. A seemingly normal couple lure homeless women to their home with a faux-religious tale of aiding he less fortunate and, somewhere between the hot bath and home-cooked meal, drug and bind them. Both husband and wife proceed with (difficult to watch) sex abuse, but looks like this time they messed with the wrong homeless girl.

There's sick and twisted, and then there's Little Deaths, a film that transforms bodily fluids and troubled relationships into 90 minutes of cheeky dementia and dramatic soul-searching. Admittedly, not everybody will be "entertained" by some of the extreme activities depicted, but the core element of self-destructive behavior that runs through all three episodes marks Little Deaths as more than the ordinary horror flick. The three episodes were each written and directed by, in order: House and Home by Sean Hogan, Mutant Tool by Andrew Parkinson, and Bitch by Simon Rumley. Our film festival, Fantastic Fest, gets its own sidebar this year at SXSW, and the line-up of midnight movies is astounding. Aptly named SXFantastic, this series of late night films runs the gauntlet from exciting new horror, animated madness, sex thrillers, and a Dance Dance Revolution drama. Alamo South Lamar is the place to be during the twilight hours, when you’re looking for something a little strange, a little edgy, even a little dangerous.
First up is the British horror anthology Little Deaths. From young directors (and Fantastic Fest alums) Sean Hogan, Andrew Parkinson, Simon Rumley, Little Deaths is a provocative, cutting-edge horror/thriller that explores the lives of three couples who are immersed in twisted games of psycho-sexual obsession and revenge resulting in a price which inevitably must be paid. It plays Friday, Saturday, and Wednesday.

The Alamo Drafthouse's Fantastic Fest is presenting five films at this year's SXSW and I don't know what any of them are about.
I've been deliberately keeping myself in the dark because I know that if Tim League and the Alamo have programmed them, that's all the recommendation I need. I'm definitely going to see them, and, for once, I'd like to go in surprised.
One of the five films is called The Fp and I think I accidentaly read that it has something to do with violent Dance Dance Revolution battles. I'm not sure. (Okay, fine, you can scroll to the bottom for the official blurbs.)
I can tell you that it has inspired Tyler Stout and Mondo to create an amazing poster, and we're lucky enough to debut it. It and a variant will be available in the Mondo shop during the fest. Check 'em out below...

Little Deaths
Stars: Amy Joyce Hastings, Luke de Lacey, Kate Braithwaite, Tom Sawyer, Jodie Jameson | Written and Directed by Sean Hogan, Simon Rumley, Andrew Parkinson
The anthology has a rich history in British film, from TV dramas such as Armchair Theatre and Hammer’s House of Horror to the classic Amicus anthologies such as Tales From the Crypt and From Beyond the Grave, in more recent years America has become home to the anthology greats (think Creepshow and the recent Trick r Treat). But now the UK are striking back with the portmanteau film Little Deaths.
A three part anthology directed by three of the UK’s most promising filmmakers – Andrew Parkinson (I, Zombie), Sean Hogan (Isle of Dogs) and Simon Rumley (Red White & Blue), Little Deaths tells three stories of sex and death, pushing the envelope of what “love” means in modern society…

The film program at South By Southwest (SXSW) has really come into its own over the past few years -- SXSW is becoming an impressive little film fest in addition to being a massive music party. The lineups for Midnight features and shorts have been announced, and there are some good premieres in there. Attack the Block, from Joe Cornish, will have a world premiere, while Hobo With a Shotgun and James Wan's Insidious will show up as well. And the films that most of us haven't heard of sound pretty great, too. If I was at the fest I'd have my ass planted in a seat for every one of these at midnight. Screw the parties -- the crazy genre films are the way to go. The fill list of features is after the break. The shorts program is massive, and you can find it at the SXSW website [1].
