Son of Dr. Felipe Pazos Roque, Cuban economist who became the first president of The Banco Nacional de Cuba (1949 - 1952), and again in 1960.
He soon became disillusioned with the communist tyrannical nature of the Castro government and resigned. He was replaced as president of the bank by Che Guevara.
