New York, Apr 3: A new study has found that 26 percent of British women wear a full face of makeup when they hit the gym.
While over half (55 percent) of the 1,907 gym-going women surveyed said they went completely barefaced at the gym, 11 percent said they were "occasional" makeup wearers at the gym, and 8 percent said that it depended on the situation, the New York Daily News reported.
Reasons cited included concerns with impressing the opposite sex and having a bad skin day.
"While it is pretty common to see British women walking around town in a full set of makeup, I was a bit surprised to see how many women admitted that they did not feel comfortable working out at the gym without cover up!" Mark Pearson, chairman.

Channel Nine has asked Facebook to close a fake Nine News account, which has been urging viewers to switch to rival Seven.
Yesterday, users began noticing how the unauthorised Facebook account was posting comments urging people to watch Seven’s coverage of the floods.
This is not the first “off message” post on the page. In recent days, the account has not only “liked” the Seven News Facebook page, but has also asked users whether or not Nine should broadcast the cricket instead of its flood coverage.
“We are currently working with Facebook to have the site taken down,” said a Nine spokesperson.
The account has been in operation since August last year and has a similar name and style to the official account.
Since it commenced, the account has received more than 2,000 likes. In contrast, the authorised Nine News page has more than 163,000 likes.

Not that you need any more reasons to love "The Avengers," but here's one anyway: the Marvel Studios movies have inspired some tremendous creative efforts from their fans. Case in point is our Hero of the Week: Mark Pearson, the creator of Cardboard Iron Man.
Oddity Central reports that Pearson, a 44-year-old repairman from West Yorkshire, spent 14 months creating his very own replica of Tony Stark's Iron Man suit using a combination of household items and cardboard covered in fiberglass. Standing at only 5'6", Pearson himself isn't tall enough to even fit into the Iron Man suit, so he recruited local supermarket manager Darren Higgins to assume Stark's metallic alter-ego.
Some additional details on the creation of Cardboard Iron Man:
The Iron Man suit made by Mark Pearson started out as a set of 400 sheets of cardboard that he turned into a 3D structure, and later into a fiberglass replica.

The note was practically a high "A-sharp"; the cacophony of voices blended perfectly to form an instantly recognizable tone, striking the right balance of volume and shrill while conveying contagious enthusiasm. There were big smiles, hearty applause and a collective pat on the back. Only this chorus wasn't singing on the set of "Glee"; it was 16 cheering department heads seated around a conference table at the Los Angeles offices of 20th Century Fox Television, the studio that produces the hit Fox show. Piped in via video: another eight team members from Columbia Records in New York.Welcome to the "Gleekly meeting," a pep rally during which the many tentacles that tend to the nearly half-billion-dollar brand convene to discuss the latest strategies for what has become the network's No. 2 priority. Averaging 14 million viewers this season, "Glee" still trails "American Idol" by a good 10 million, but it's inching closer to the juggernaut with each passing day.

What does it take to make a half a billion dollar franchise? Just ask the people who put together Fox’s hit series Glee. The new Hollywood Reporter article on Thursday, goes deep inside the war room with cast and execs to look at the forces that have made Fox’s hit show a half-billion-dollar franchise, as they also open up about looming cast salary negotiations, that Kings of Leon snub (everyone’s mad!) and an eventual future without creator Ryan Murphy. The story appears in the current issue of The Hollywood Reporter available on newsstands Thursday.
I am not going to cut and paste but the article was really interesting seeing how a show like Glee was put together and why it is so successful in becoming a major brand and franchise.
“For Glee, gone is the old TV model of making money only off ads (nearly $300,000 per 30-second spot and rising) and syndication.
