Julie Pernworth was named Executive Vice President, Comedy Development, CBS Entertainment, in June 2015. She reports to Thom Sherman, Senior Executive Vice President, Programming, CBS Entertainment.
In her position, Pernworth oversees the development of all CBS comedies. Since joining CBS in 2000 as Vice President, Comedy Development, she has developed many of the Network's signature shows, including "Two and a Half Men," "How I Met Your Mother," "2 Broke Girls," MOM, "The Big Bang Theory," YOUNG SHELDON, THE NEIGHBORHOOD, BOB HEARTS ABISHOLA and THE UNICORN. Pernworth also oversaw development for B POSITIVE, the #1 New Comedy of the 2020-2021 season, and the upcoming UNITED STATES OF AL.
Prior to joining CBS, she was Director, Primetime Series at NBC, working on "Freaks & Geeks," "Ed" and "3rd Rock from the Sun." She joined NBC in 1995 as Director of Casting, overseeing the series casting of "Friends," "Mad About You" and "Just Shoot Me."
