I didn’t think it was possible for IFC’s cult-satire, “Documentary Now!,” to get any more brilliant with their parodies. All of that changed with the episode, “Original Cast Album: Co-op,” which featured a slew of original songs written for the episode with lyrics by series co-creator Seth Meyers and John Mulaney and music by Eli Bolin. Not only are the songs funny, but they’re beautifully constructed as a striking tribute to the best of musical theater and they should be in serious consideration for the Best Original Music and Lyrics category at this year’s Emmys.
