- In the 1960s he joined Olga Lipinska's popular show "Kabaret".
- For many years he was a part of stand up comedy groups "Owca" and "Dudek".
- In the 1990s he directed a number of stage plays, among them "Mayday" by Ray Cooney, which was very popular and played in many cities in Poland.
- His first big theatrical role was Leander in "Parady" by Jan Potocki, directed by Ewa Bonacka (1959). This play was shown at a theater in Paris, after which a reviewer at "Le Figaro" wrote: "This kind of fencing, as shown by Golas and Pokora, France hasn't seen since the times of "The Three Musketeers"".
