Here's a first look at newcomer Isabel Clifton in the title role of Hetty Feather in the new Cbbc series Hetty Feather, an adaptation of the popular novel of the same name by Dame Jacqueline Wilson.
The 10-part period drama tells the story of Hetty, a flame-haired Victorian girl abandoned as a baby by her mother at the Foundling Hospital.
A timeless and compelling tale, which brings the realities of the Victorian age – good, bad, funny and tragic – to life through the eyes of the boys and girls who inhabit the Foundling Hospital. They endure the terrifying dictatorship of Matron Bottomley (played by Eva Pope). Punishments are the norm, kindness is a rarity. The Foundlings have to stick together.
This is 13 year old Isabel's first TV role, she is represented by Sandra Singer Associates.

For the last few adventures, the Eighth Doctor (Paul McGann), has been paired up with Gothic horror writer, Mary Shelly (Julia Cox). They first dealt with a strange automaton in Vienna, then moved on to an apparent witch. Now they’re dealing with an army of undead. I begin to sense a theme.
Our story begins with Mary and the Doctor arriving on Draxine, a human colony world. There they learn that the city state of Garrak was recently destroyed in a massive explosion, apparently triggered by the city’s president who was part of a death cult. As a result, the other major city state, Stronghaven, has decided that the population of Garrak-born people inside its borders cannot be trusted.
Meantime, a small group of soldiers is attacked by what appear to be walking skeletons. They try to stop them, but to no real avail,...

John Foster (Christopher Dane) is fed up. He’s lost his job, bills are piling up, his partner keeps nagging him. Along with his friend and fellow couch potato Chris (Lee Boardman) he decides to put some silly things on “an online auction site” (*cough* eBay) including soiled underwear and himself. A regional news crew catches up with him one morning as the auction is drawing to a close and then follow him in real time as the clock counts down to the end of his selling of himself. He and Chris are bewildered by all of the attention, then seduced by the promise from ambitious reporter Maia (Jessica Blake) of fame and fortune, before things really start to get out of hand with locals and international news hotshots gathering outside his house, all keen to see what will happen. How much is a human life worth? – we are repeatedly asked to consider.

It's been a busy day for indie movies on Empire, what with the new poster for Another Year and another for The Kids Are Alright. And now here's a poster and trailer for a third movie, this time a small-scale British indie called Being Sold. It's the story of a bloke who, following redundancy, puts himself up for sale on an online auction site – ignoring several international and national laws outlawing slavery in the process, we might add. The cast includes Christopher Dane (Born of Hope), Lee Boardman (Rome), Eva Pope (Waterloo Road), Jessica Blake (The Butterfly Tattoo) as well as Chris Hannon (Lunch Monkeys), Lesley Joseph (Birds of a Feather), John Thompson, Terry Christian and Roy Walker.A percentage of the film's box office is apparently going to Amnesty International, and a release date is due to be announced in the next couple of days. Check out the poster...

Amanda Burton has described her Waterloo Road character as a mother figure. Burton is joining the show in the next series as new headteacher Karen Fisher, the replacement for Rachel Mason (Eva Pope). The actress explained that she was drawn to the role because it focuses on the difficulties of balancing a career and a home life. "I think one of the interesting things about the character is she is very much a mother in the series," she said. "Having three children means you see her domestic life and all that goes with that." She continued: "It's been a very good counter-balance, as you are not just seeing a woman who is holding down (more)...

Eva Pope has revealed details of her forthcoming exit from BBC drama Waterloo Road. The actress told What's On TV that she is pleased with the storyline that sees her character Rachel Mason leave the show. “I didn’t have much of a say in it, but I do think she deserved a nice, fun exit considering the amount of trauma she’s been through over the years,” she said. In the forthcoming series, Mason will quit her position as headteacher at Waterloo Road Comprehensive and marry chef Adam Fleet (Steven Waddington). “It’s been scary for Rachel and it took a strong person to make her even consider getting married. “[She's] an extremely strong woman and (more)...
