At the death of Huntz Hall in 1999, Dr. Punsley became the last surviving
original Dead End Kid.
In February 1994, Bernard appeared with fellow ex-Dead End Kid Huntz Hall
at a ceremony in which the gang received a star on the Hollywood Walk
of Fame.
Played the sad-eyed "Dead End Kid" who was deep-down a good guy but
fell into the gang by hard luck.
Retired from medical practice in the late 1980s.
Graduated from University of Georgia's Medical College, he was a doctor
of internal medicine who ran his own practice for years. Also was chief
of staff at South Bay Hospital in Redondo Beach, California.
One of the "Dead End" kids.
Son of a New York City tailor.
First role was at the age of 8 in a Broadway production of "I Love an
Actress." The show folded after only a week.
