- Sol Raye was born in 1934 in Christianburg, Guyana. He was an actor, known for Desmond's (1989), Shades of Fear (1994) and Black Silk (1985). He died on March 31, 2006 in London, England, UK.
- Guyanese cabaret singer, composer and recording artist who moved to England in the 1960s and originally studied acting, performing with the English Stage Company.
