- The R & B music group Boyz II Men based their wardrobe design on Bill's role of preppy nerd "Alfred Vanderpool," which he portrayed on the daytime drama "All My Children" from 1982 through 1987 (with cameo appearances 1998 - 2005). The name "Vanderpool" appears in the music videos for the Boyz II Men songs "Motown Philly" and "I'll Make Love To You".
