- Carol Richards was born on June 6, 1922 in Harvard, Illinois, USA. She was an actress, known for Ryan's Hope (1975), Call Me Madam (1953) and The Edge of Night (1956). She was married to Edward Swiedler. She died on March 16, 2007 in Vero Beach, Florida, USA.

- She began performing at age 4 but, within a couple of years her mother thought she was acting "like a diva", and wouldn't let her take the stage again until she was 11.

Her voice is on the original "Brigadoon" soundtrack singing such popular songs as the title tune and "Heather on the Hill".
