Many of us grew up with TV shows on Disney Channel, planning our Friday nights around the premiere of every single new Disney Channel Original Movie. We laughed, we cried and we prayed that our secret twin sibling would show up out of nowhere, while simultaneously finding out that our mother was born a leprechaun.
The last few years have given all Disney Channel kids hope with the return of That’s So Raven and Boy Meets World via their respective spinoffs, Raven’s Home and Girl Meets World. (Adult Shawn Hunter, anyone?) If you love baby Sarah Jessica Parker and the Sanderson sisters as much as the rest of the world, you probably jumped for joy when a Hocus Pocus remake was announced. Oh, and who can forget the huge news that the Wildcats will return to East High in High School Musical 4?
Sure, all of these reboots are great, but so many more...

We’ve heard of teacher’s pets before, but this story is truly one for the yearbooks.
Mr. Rogers, a history teacher at Clements High School in Limestone County, Alabama, was feeling the blues until a group of students stepped up to brighten his holiday season. According to a Facebook post Troy Rogers wrote, his 11-year-old, blind Golden Retriever Chip had wandered away and he “missed him terribly.” There had been an exhaustive search for the old pup, but he was not found.
“I was just heartbroken,” the teacher told Whnt News 19. “We don’t have any children of our own.

In the summer of 2018 a documentary detailing the life and work of Mr. Rogers will be coming to TV, and people couldn’t be more appreciative of it. After all this is a man that a lot of us grew up watching and fully enjoyed when he came on. He might have been wrongly slammed and identified as a pedophile but those that knew to look past this slander and the unflattering remarks knew deep down that he was someone they could look up to and really trust to have the best interests of children at heart. He was a

“Daddy’s Home 2” isn’t sorry. It doesn’t care about your stupid feelings. Don’t remember what happened at the end of the last movie, or which home belongs to which daddy? Too bad. Don’t want your festive family comedies to star Mel Gibson as a serial womanizer with a flair for violence? Well, “The Man Who Invented Christmas” isn’t out until next week, so you’re shit out of luck. Don’t understand how Will Ferrell could re-team with Mark Wahlberg when a sequel to “Step Brothers” is possibly the only thing that could pull civilization back from the brink? Get in line.
A follow-up to one of Sofia Coppola’s favorite movies of all time, “Daddy’s Home 2” literally ends with its characters snowbound in a multiplex and forced to watch some limp Hollywood garbage because they don’t have anything better to do. In a better world,...

I think a lot of us took for granted the idea that Mr. Rogers simply wore a sweater on his show each and every show he put on. We didn’t think much of it since it was just considered to be another part of the show, something he did as a part of his entrance that we had to get through in order to get to the main part of the episode. Learning that every sweater he wore seems to bring a new light to the show that makes it a lot more personal and a lot more meaningful. It

TV hosts get welcomed into people’s living rooms on a regular basis. With “I Love You, America,” Sarah Silverman is making that a two-way invitation. The set of Hulu’s new show features a plaid-draped couch, Abe Lincoln tchotchkes, and roadside diner signs, all capped off by a pull-down Murphy bed.
As always, Silverman is using her personal comedic approach to challenge what certain audiences find acceptable, but particularly in this new venture, she wants people to feel comfortable first.
“This is really everything I dreamed it could be. It doesn’t mean it’s gonna be even anyone else’s cup of tea, but it really is mine. I wanted it to be of this moment in time,” Silverman said in a recent interview with IndieWire.
In its opening episodes, Silverman’s format-fluid interview/commentary/documentary project has ventured out from some familiar coastal climes to different places across the country.

When I was growing up, there was a show that I loved to watch called Highway to Heaven. It had been years since I had seen the show, then it recently popped up on Netflix and I immediately started rewatching it.
As I watched the show, I was flooded with nostalgia and the memories of the show started flooding back. The show was filled with hard-hitting drama, humor, inspiration, and even action in some cases. One of the things I loved about the series most was the positive heartfelt messages that each episode revolves around.
Most episodes stressed moral themes and dealt with common human failings, such as egotism, bitterness and greed. Other episodes addressed such topics as racism, bullying, Mental illness, self-esteem, the environment, cancer, and more. There are also some big stars that got their start in the series like Paul Walker, Will Wheaton, and Josh Brolin. It...

Pioneering director George Romero died on Sunday, at the age of 77, after a battle with lung cancer.
His manager Chris Roe tells Et in a statement, "Legendary filmmaker George A. Romero passed away on Sunday July 16, listening to the score of 'The Quiet Man,' one of his all-time favorite films, with his wife, Suzanne Desrocher Romero, and daughter, Tina Romero at his side. He died peacefully in his sleep, following a brief but aggressive battle with lung cancer, and leaves behind a loving family, many friends, and a filmmaking legacy that has endured, and will continue to endure, the test of time.'

In 1969, Mr. Rogers gave the following emotional plea to a Senate Subcommittee. Nixon was trying to cut funding for PBS. Mr. Rogers was trying to save it. This speech is one of many fantastic memories that remind us just how fantastic a happiness hero this man really was. Somehow using nothing but a few minutes of gentle words, Mr. Rogers was able to convince them not to pull funding from public television. The transition of the committee’s chairman from skeptical and dismissive at the beginning to having an attitude of outright admiration at the end is beautiful to behold.

I confess, I love Bruce McGill, so his appearance in NCIS Season 14 Episode 19 charmed me from first irritable complaint (particularly calling the conference room a "table room," repeatedly).
Does it make any sense to murder two people over flooring? Nope, not really. But since I'm a sucker for a good emotional punch, "The Wall" worked for me much more than it didn't.
There was no reasonable explanation for O'Leary to murder Maya and the unfortunate Corporal Beck with such an exotic method other than for the sake of novelty.
The viewers were also supposed to simply accept that O'Leary immediately leaped to "murder" as the most obvious solution to the problem of the contaminated flooring.
Because suing the supplier who sold you said formaldehyde-tainted flooring is so unreasonable, I guess...?
To add to the head-scratching, nothing she did actually solved the problem. The flooring was still contaminated, and people were going to get sick.

Tom Hardy is far and away one of the most masculine actors out there. The roles he plays are gruff, tough, emotional, and action packed. Every time he utters a line it’s filled with bravado and the kind of emotion that make you want to get up and run 100 miles at the gym. So to step back and picture this guy in a Mr. Rogers sweater surrounded by stuffed animals looking into the camera in this “oh so sweet” kind of way is a site to see. It’s also quite awesome. Whoever came up with the concept of Tom

TV characters have fantasies, too. Or, maybe just nightmares. Or, maybe they just need to be shown the reality of the "what if..." question they just asked.
What if dogs ruled the earth? What if Superman never existed?
While we don't have the luxury of living in an alternate reality (even though sometimes we might want to), our favorite TV characters can and have.
Check out our list of times TV has taken us to an alternate reality.
Which is your favorite? What trip did we forget to include? What alternate reality would you like to visit? Let us know in the comments below!
1. Shadowhunters - "This World Inverted" During their hunt for Valentine, Clary and Jace get a tip from Meliorn about an alternate dimension. Clary dives right in and finds herself in a world where Valentine is a super duper kind of guy and Izzy and Simon are adorably nerdy.

Brian Huskey looks like the unassuming everyman. But that’s where his comedy lies.
Huskey, an original member of the Upright Citizens Brigade, has made a name for himself by playing average-looking guys with a dark core. That successful formula is on full display in “Mr. Neighbor’s House,” a twisted take on a children’s TV host that premieres Friday night on Adult Swim.

Wilder is one of the greatest comic actors of the 20th century, but his turn as Wonka is one of the most finely-tuned feature-length performances from any actor, ever. Wilder's performance in Chocolate Factory careens wildly in tone, veering from charming-if-slightly-off in his first few scenes to downright unhinged and terrifying in the infamous tunnel scene a few scant minutes later. Wilder's Wonka was by design unpredictable, but meticulously planned out by the actor.

Vinyl closes its first season by cutting back and forth between Richie and Zak across a crowded room. It’s meant to remind us that the two men share a few too many secrets, and that the burden of guilt on Richie’s shoulders is far from lifted. It’s also almost completely flat, just like the preceding sequence in which Richie tells his employees and musicians to go nuts and spray-paint the label’s offices. The chaos he unleashes mirrors what he experienced in the pilot at the New York Dolls concert, but here there’s no raw-nerved depiction of the connection between music and listener to land the hullabaloo.

In the not too distant future we’ll be privy to both Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Overly Long Titles and Captain America: Civility and Zombies. And no, I don’t mean asking Tony or Bruce-Bruce for a spare billion to cover the insurance.
At the core of both movies – and yes, I’m speculating – we’re dealing with the balance of proactive protection versus reactive process improvement. Regulating and regularly checking the populace for gifts is certainly one way to do it. It’s no different, one might postulate, than registering a weapon they own. Iron Man’s stance, as is Mr.

Buzz and Woody and Slink and Hamm have been in our lives for two decades — Pixar’s “Toy Story” opened 20 years ago today, making animation history as it did.
