- Played for the National League's Brooklyn/Los Angeles Dodgers (1957-1967); and for the Americal League's Minnesota Twins (1968-1969) and Washington Senators (1970).
- A former Los Angeles Dodgers catcher, Roseboro will always be known for being attacked on Aug. 22, 1965, at Candlestick Park. Future Hall of Fame pitcher Juan Marichal, while at bat, hit Roseboro over the head twice with his bat, opening a 2-inch gash that sent blood flowing down the catcher's face.
