In a video that circulated on X Wednesday, Robert De Niro can be seen yelling at a crowd while Jesse Plemons looks on from the sidelines. The video, taken by an unknown outlooker, was reposted by several pro-Israel accounts that subtitled De Niro’s dialogue and began circulating it, claiming that De Niro was shouting at pro-Palestinian protestors and referring to the Israel-Hamas War that started Oct. 7.
But the veteran actor was actually rehearsing a new Netflix show on location, his representative Stan Rosenfield confirmed. “What was seen was erroneous reports of Robert De Niro supposedly yelling at a group of anti-Israeli protesters,” Rosenfield said.
“De Niro’s lines were 100% scripted,” said the rep. “The video was a small snippet from a rehearsal scene from the Netflix series ‘Zero Day’ which was being filmed on the streets of New York, April 27, where the character played by De Niro is confronting...

The Critics Choice Award for chutzpah goes to … the lady swathed in gold lamé, sporting a Mohawk fade hairstyle who, without so much as a by-your-leave, crashed past me and scooped up a bottle of Milagro Silver tequila that was part of the centerpiece on tables at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica.
“Can I,” she asks, grabbing the booze.
Wasn’t my liquor.
The thing that made me jump up in my seat was that Mohawk Lady already had bottles under her arm.
Quick as a flash, she repeated the same move at neighboring tables.
By now she had a haul of five or six bottles. Crash! One of them fell to the ground, so she swiped a replacement.
Stirred the former crime reporter in me. Who was Mohawk Lady?
She’s an online critic, someone at another table tells me.
Later on I ask her directly but she mumbles,...

Robert De Niro and Asa Butterfield form an unlikely friendship over eating food and going places in a new ad for Uber One.
The Oscar-winning actor joins the Sex Education star for the three-minute vignette, which was directed by David Shane. The ad, designed to grow Uber One’s U.K. subscribers, sees the two actors forming an unlikely friendship. It’s the latest celebrity Uber ad campaign, following commercials in the U.K. and U.S. for both its Uber Eats delivery service and separate membership service Uber One, featuring Gwyneth Paltrow, Jennifer Coolidge, Trevor Noah, Sarah Silverman and Nicholas Braun.
The ad begins with the duo on a set as Butterfield tries to connect with the veteran actor while the performing veteran quietly eats his Uber delivery. After a somewhat cringey, minute-long exchange of questions around whether De Niro eats and likes going places, The Irishman and Killers...

Martin Scorsese participated in a career-spanning video interview for GQ magazine (watch below) and lamented over how many people today resemble his “Taxi Driver” main character, Travis Bickle (Robert De Niro). The lonely and violent Travis is a Vietnam War veteran who befriends a child prostitute as his mental health deteriorates. Some film writers have described Travis as an incel-like character.
“We kept thinking in terms of the character and his loneliness and his acting out, not condoning the acting out, but he does act out and yet an empathy with him, which is really tricky,” Scorsese recalled about creating Travis. “Ultimately, what stayed with us was the psychological and emotional state of that character. As we know now, tragically, it’s a norm that every other person is like Travis Bickle.”
Scorsese also remembered the making of “Raging Bull” (1980), which centers on the rise and fall of volatile middleweight...

Contrary to a recent rumor, Uber and Robert De Niro are not collaborating on an ad featuring the actor’s Taxi Driver character, Travis Bickle. Last week, The Sun published a report saying De Niro would team up with the ride-share company to revive one of his most iconic roles for a significant payout. The announcement garnered some skepticism from fans of Martin Scorsese’s 1976 classic, with many confused by the arrangement from the jump. After catching wind of the story, Taxi Driver screenwriter Paul Schrader responded on Facebook by saying, “Ouch. Why Bob would do this is beyond my reckoning.” Schrader, clearly disturbed by the news, added, “But I haven’t seen it. If I’m lucky I never will.”
Today, Uber confirmed that De Niro will star in an Uber U.K. ad campaign later this year. However, the promos do not feature the award-winning actor’s legendary character.

Robert De Niro will be doing an Uber U.K. ad campaign, but it will not be tied to his memorable Taxi Driver role.
Reports earlier this week in U.K. tabloid The Sun suggested that the Oscar-winning actor would be bringing one of his most memorable roles, Travis Bickle, to the commercial space. The ads were allegedly set to feature the actor uttering the famous line, “You talkin’ to me?”
The actor’s rep Stan Rosenfield denied that De Niro would be uttering the well-known phrase, and, in a statement, told The Hollywood Reporter that “De Niro’s Uber commercial has nothing to do with his Taxi Driver character.”
The campaign is currently filming in London and is slated to launch sometime later this year, Uber told THR.

Update Robert De Niro’s PR person Stan Rosenfield said the actor’s just-completed Uber commercial “has nothing to do with his his Taxi Driver character whatsoever. This rumor is based on a fictitious report from the UK several days ago.”
Previous: Writer-director Paul Schrader has reacted to a report that Robert De Niro will reprise his iconic Taxi Driver role of Travis Bickle for an Uber commercial being filmed this week in London.
The report indicates De Niro will be riffing on Bickle’s classic lines in a series of spots. The 1976 Martin Scorsese film is set in a noirish New York, with De Niro’s Travis Bickle cab driver slowly deteriorating into a vigilante. De Niro was nominated for an Academy Award as Best Actor.
Schrader noted the Uber ad report in a Facebook post.
“Ouch,” he wrote. “Why Bob would do this is beyond my reckoning. But I haven’t seen it.

A representative for Robert De Niro has denied reports that the Oscar winner has reprised his role as Travis Bickle from “Taxi Driver” for an Uber ad campaign.
Several published reports in recent days asserted that De Niro was revisiting the seminal character from Martin Scorsese’s 1976 drama, a role that cemented his status as one of the great actors of his era. Reports of the plan for the commercial prompted “Taxi Driver” screenwriter Paul Schrader to slam the idea in a Facebook post.
“Ouch. Why Bob would do this is beyond my reckoning,” Schrader wrote Sept. 20 on Facebook. “But I haven’t seen it. If I’m lucky I never will.”
In a statement, Uber confirmed that De Niro will be seen later in the year in the U.K. as a pitchman for the service, and also let it be known that the campaign does not have a “Taxi Driver” theme.

According to documents obtained by Et on Wednesday, Alfallah filed for full physical custody of their 3-month-old child, and requested that Pacino have “reasonable visitation.”
The couple was first romantically linked in April 2022, and Alfallah gave birth to Roman at Cedars Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles on June 6.
According to the filing, Alfallah, 29, is requesting that they share a joint legal custody grant of their young son, which would give Pacino, 83, a say on his education, religion and medical treatment.
However, she is requesting primary custody, which means Roman would live with her. However, she also requested “reasonable right of parenting time to the party without physical custody,” meaning Pacino would also get to spend time with his baby boy.

Updated: Robert De Niro has returned home to New York after injuring his leg off-set in Oklahoma while filming Martin Scorsese’s “Killers of the Flower Moon,” in which he is starring alongside Leonardo DiCaprio. Variety confirmed that he was injured, but it’s not known how serious it might be. The injury occurred on his own time, not on the set.
De Niro’s spokesperson Stan Rosenfield specified that the injury was to his quadriceps muscle. “While at his on-location home in Oklahoma for the filming of Martin Scorsese’s ‘Killers of the Flower Moon,’ Robert De Niro injured his quadriceps muscle which will be treated medically in New York. This will not affect production as he was not scheduled to film again for another three weeks,” Rosenfield said.

Mickey Rourke and Robert De Niro fell out after working together on cult horror movie Angel Heart.
They say there's just enough religion parts in the world to make men hate one another, but not enough to make them love.
According to Mickey Rourke, a fued that began in 1987 between himself and Robert De Niro on the set of horror classic Angel Heart is still chugging along. Rourke recently went on an Italian talk show called Live – Non è la D’Urso, and said that De Niro had gone out of his way to prevent him from nabbing a role in Martin Scorsese's upcoming Netflix film, The Irishman.
"Marty Scorsese wanted to meet me for a movie with Al Pacino, Joe Pesci, and Robert De Niro," Rourke claimed. "The casting person told my manager that Robert De Niro said he refused to work with me in a movie.

A bomb was discovered outside the Manhattan offices of Robert De Niro this morning, bringing the total number of extremist attacks to nine.
In what marks a continuing and extremely coordinated terrorist operation, actor and celebrated filmmaker Robert De Niro is the latest to be targeted with a pipe bomb. Earlier this morning at 5 am, a suspicious package addressed to De Niro was found outside the offices of his production company in Manhattan’s Tribeca neighborhood. The same building that is also the hub of the Tribeca Film Festival. The bomb had apparently been left outside the building and had been spotted by a security employee who noticed similarities between the package and photographs of other bombs that were discovered yesterday.
This is the latest in a string of recent bombings that seem almost certainly politically motivated. De Niro, among other things, has been a vocal Democrat...

Morgan Freeman, who was accused of sexual harassment by several women on Thursday, has issued a longer statement in response to the allegations. Through his publicist Stan Rosenfield, Freeman said:
“I am devastated that 80 years of my life is at risk of being undermined, in the blink of an eye, by Thursday’s media reports.
All victims of assault and harassment deserve to be heard. And we need to listen to them. But it is not right to equate horrific incidents of sexual assault with misplaced compliments or humor.
I admit that I am someone who feels a need to try to make women—and men—feel appreciated and at ease around me. As a part of that, I would often try to joke with and compliment women, in what I thought was a light-hearted and humorous way.
Clearly I was not always coming across the way I intended. And...

Chris Soules entered a written arraignment on Tuesday, pleading not guilty to the charge of leaving the scene of an accident causing a death. Soules was involved in a car accident on April 24 that resulted in the death of tractor driver Kenneth Mosher.
The 35-year-old Bachelor star waived his right to an open court arraignment, asking the court to accept his plea, for a speedy trial and for a trial date to be set. A judge must first accept his written arraignment, otherwise Soules will still have to attend his scheduled open court arraignment, which is set to take place on May 23.
On Tuesday, Soules also requested that the State file a Bill of Particulars, specifying what part of the Iowa code that he violated or did not satisfy. One of his attorneys, Gina Messamer, explained in the filing that "a Bill of Particulars should be allowed when the charge and minutes do not sufficiently inform the defendant...

Former Bachelor star Chris Soules made headlines this week when he was taken into custody in Iowa early Tuesday morning after allegedly leaving the scene of a car crash that resulted in the death of another driver on Monday night. However, as Et previously reported, it's not his first brush with the law.
Soules had at least 14 run-ins with the law in Iowa between 1998 and 2012, before he joined The Bachelorette in 2014. The majority of the offenses are vehicle-related, including speeding and running stop signs. He also pleaded guilty in 2006 for operating a vehicle while intoxicated. As part of that sentence, he was fined $500 and served one year of probation.
But how much did The Bachelor know about Soules' past before he became a suitor on Andi Dorfman's season of The Bachelorette, and later cast as the Bachelor?
