It’s rather fitting that the Deadpool 2 marketing campaign is as cheeky and unpredictable as its titular lead.
From Thanksgiving treats to Bob Ross-inspired trailers (“and remember, hugs and drugs”), the Powers That Be have wholeheartedly embraced the Merc’s irreverent style, which, in turn, has allowed Ryan Reynolds to do what he does best: serve up funny and often deadpan tweets to his legions of followers. And the actor’s latest post certainly honored that tradition.
Via Twitter, Reynolds unveiled a striking piece of artwork earlier this week that imagined Deadpool and Cable in the Creation of Adam, Michelangelo’s biblical painting that’s etched into the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel. But this is not the Vatican City. And let’s face it: neither Wade Wilson nor Nathan Summers are terribly religious. Instead, the tongue-in-cheek promo is designed to drum up excitement for the second coming, as...

“If this is true, I wonder how the fudge it would affect Deadpool?”
That was the potentially alarming question raised by Ryan Reynolds back in November, when Disney and 21st Century Fox were still knee-deep in negotiations. Four weeks later, and now that the Disney-Fox merger has been made official, acting CEO Bob Iger has allayed fears that Deadpool is suddenly in danger of becoming a bright and breezy franchise for the entire family.
In a call to investors (via The Hollywood Reporter), Bob Iger stressed that the future of Deadpool – and its R rating, in particular – will be largely unaffected by today’s news. Not only that, but it seems the Mouse House is not opposed to releasing R-rated comic book movies, especially after the way audiences responded to Deadpool and James Mangold’s Logan.

"Do you want my body - on yours - forever? Well let's make those dreams come true." 20th Century Fox has released a new teaser trailer for Deadpool 2, this one straight from the halls of the Brazil Comic Con in Sao Paulo. The teaser basically just has Deadpool, as played by Ryan Reynolds, sitting in a chair talking about tattoos and Brazil and all kinds of funny stuff. This is the third teaser on top of the first two amusing teasers, the most recent being the wacky Bob Ross tribute (with a bit of real footage). The full cast includes Morena Baccarin, Josh Brolin, Brianna Hildebrand, T.J. Miller, Eddie Marsan, Zazie Beetz, Leslie Uggams, Karan Soni, Julian Dennison, and Stefan Kapicic. While I am looking forward to a full trailer, these teasers are pretty brilliant and they're good enough to hold me over for now. Do you agree? Here's the...

Are you a vocal supporter of the Merc? And do you plan on attending Brazil’s Comic-Con this weekend? If you answered “yes” to both of those questions, you may want to inquire about getting some sweet Deadpool-related ink.
Lead star Ryan Reynolds has confirmed via Twitter that 20th Century Fox will be opening a small tattoo parlor at the event, which will offer a choice of four free tattoos inspired by the irreverent Merc With a Mouth. And similar to how Reynolds spoofed Bob Ross in the official Deadpool 2 teaser, today’s announcement video is another textbook example of his near-perfect comic timing.
Further details on the pop-up tattoo stall, along with the terms and conditions, can be found over on Fox’s site, while Ryan Reynolds’ monologue begins in typically hilarious fashion.
Ah, Brazil — the beautiful, sun-kissed home of Pele, hairless genitalia, and the world’s largest Jared Leto statue.

Ryan Reynolds hilariously wishes his big brother, Jeff, a happy birthday.
The Deadpool star shared an adorable throwback photo on Friday of himself and his sibling from when they were little.
"I may have three older brothers, but only one Jeff. You were the first friend I ever had," Reynolds, 41, wrote, before busting out his wicked sense of humor.
"If there was ever a fire and I had to choose a family member to save, obviously it’d be me," he jokingly wrote. "But if I had time to save one more... and I knew it was safe to re-enter the burning building, you can be damn sure I’d call the fire department. They’re experts in the field and have top quality safety gear. Not to mention experience in these matters. I love you. Happy Birthday.

Deadpool is back in the first teaser for the untitled Deadpool sequel!Deadpool is back in the first teaser for the untitled Deadpool sequel!Amanda Wood11/15/2017 2:49:00 PMIt's been a long wait, but the much-anticipated Deadpool sequel is getting closer and closer. Today, a very creative teaser trailer was released for the as-yet-untitled sequel to the R-rated superhero movie Deadpool from last year. In it, Ryan Reynolds dons his Deadpool suit and also a Bob Ross-esque wig, and he tries his hand at painting in the informative style of Ross. Because this is Deadpool, there's also a whole lot of swearing, innuendos, and general crude content. Oh, and you do also get to see brief flashes of the actual movie, which looks like it'll feature the kind of crazy action and wacky sidekicks that we've come to know and love. Check out the first teaser below, and look...

Who knew that Deadpool 2 would kick off with an homage to ... Bob Ross?
It turns out that depending on who you ask, its either the most brilliant way to debut first footage, or if you aren't really sure who Ross is, it's a little confusing. Either way, who can complain about new Deadpool 2 footage? The Heat Vision team of Graeme McMillan, Ryan Parker and Aaron Couch take a closer look. But more importantly, Deadpool co-creator Fabian Nicieza even dropped a line to share his two cents as well.

Perhaps no one is more excited for the Wednesday's first footage of Deadpool 2 than the person who started it all.
Comic book creator Rob Liefeld tells Heat Vision he's already watched it "millions of times." Ryan Reynolds plays Deadpool impersonating late painter Bob Ross, wearing a wig to mimic his trademark afro. It's a fascinating balancing act, with the actor playing comics' dirtiest and most hyper hero playing perhaps the public television's most calm artist of all time.

Leave it to Ryan Reynolds and Co. to one-up just about every other cinematic marketing campaign with the brazen, tongue-in-cheek teaser for Deadpool 2.
Embedded above, we begin with a mellow painting tutorial from Bob Ross Wade Wilson, who cracks Nsfw jokes and silly innuendoes like they’re going out of fashion. But stick around until the 1:30 mark and you’ll be rewarded with the very first promo for Deadpool 2, and it’s fair to say that David Leitch and his editing team have crammed an awful lot of material into this 10-second window.
Thankfully, Collider was on hand to capture a series of high-res screenshots, beginning with an up-close look at Brianna Hildebrand’s Negasonic Teenage Warhead kitted out in her X-Men gear. There’s also a sneak peek at Julian Dennison’s fiery mutant, Domino (Zazie Beetz) kicking down a door, and Blind Al wielding a pistol.

"I'm glad you could join me today." 20th Century Fox has debuted a hilarious new teaser trailer for the Deadpool sequel, currently known as just Deadpool 2, once again starring Ryan Reynolds as the Merc with a Mouth. They're marketing for this sequel is as good as the first so far, and as things ramp up it only seems to be getting even better. The first teaser for “Deadpool 2” (Ok, it is actually still an untitled flick, but go with it) is here and all we can say is: Wtf? Ryan Reynolds spends the majority of the little over two-minute clip, titled “Wet on Wet,” channeling the “Joy of Painting” host Bob Ross, just to make sure we knew the “Deadpool” sequel is going to be even weirder than the first film. But, clearly, even more awesome. Reynolds also takes a brief break to give us an actual glimpse at the film, which included our first real look at Josh Brolin’s villain Cable in.

Remember Bob Ross? He was the guy with the big afro that would be on TV talking about ‘happy little trees’ now and then as he showed you just how fun and engaging painting could be. He passed away back in 1995 but his show and his presence has still been felt in pop culture ever since then. It’s funny really, he didn’t come on that often and he was ridiculed a lot for his show, but he’s still an important part of American culture largely because he just kept on doing what he loved. Erlingur Thoroddsen‘s Rift is an icy “cabin in the hills” thriller worth every scenic gawk; Iceland’s genuine production value featured to a remarkable degree (looming mountain regions to jagged lava fields). Landscapes like a Bob Ross painting and tension like a Justin Benson/Aaron Moorhead production might squeeze. It’s such prime location setting, which Thoroddsen skillfully uses to subtlety wall-in characters and inspire tone-snapping hope. This sets the stage for personal rumination in the most idyllic of lands, where evil may present itself as a wolf of our own conjuring – living, not even hiding, in plain sight.
Thoroddsen boils a complicated relationship between two men – Einar (Sigurður Þór Óskarsson) and Gunnar (Björn Stefánsson) – down to psychological fears. Uncertainty. Life. It’s their status as ex-lovers that unites the two men once again, after Einar leaves Gunnar a vague – and cryptic – voicemail. Gunnar, unable to decipher the message’s intent,...

It was bound to happen. Everyone’s favorite TV painter Bob Ross now has a Funko Pop! character of his very own. And doesn’t it just look like a happy little Funko character? On the flip side his fro looks a little squashed, so maybe that’s why his eyebrows make it look like he’s worried. Remember, his fro has always been one of the more iconic parts of who he is on the show, but it’s understandable that it’s not bigger. If it was he’d probably look like a rather frumpy troll doll. Bob passed away back in 1995, a while

The CEO of Qatar Airlines, has apologized for calling U.S. flight attendants “grandmothers” during a speech in Ireland last week.
Akbar Al Baker bragged that the average age of Qatar Airways’ cabin crew is just 26, while passengers on U.S airlines are “always being served by grandmothers.”
“Competition among air carriers is robust. This is healthy, especially for our passengers, but our competition must remain respectful,” he wrote in a letter to the Association of Flight Attendants. “For the cabin crew serving aboard all air carriers, professionalism, skill and dedication are the qualities that matter. This headline is not fake news. We repeat, there’s no monkey business here: Bubbles the Chimp, former pet of Michael Jackson the King of Pop, really is the star of a new art exhibition opening in Miami on July 21.
People spoke to Adam Brand, the owner of Frames USA art gallery and human mastermind behind the “Apes that Paint” show and fundraiser. One of his customers at the gallery is a volunteer at the Center for Great Apes, a permanent sanctuary for rescued and retired chimps and orangutans that come from the entertainment industry, research labs and the exotic pet trade,...

If you’re trying to stay clear of political news and Melania Trump refusing to touch Donald’s hand, you might be aware of the “Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood” marathon that began on Monday afternoon over on Twitch. And by marathon I mean they were showing every single episode ever which to me is considerably more important than Melania Trump. In the same way that one zones out while watching Bob Ross painting, the same can be said for watching Mister Rogers. It’s just incredibly soothing and a nice escape from the realities that plague us all. Part of what soothed us on

In the world of professional sports, Bowling will never, ever get the respect that either people think it deserves or the sport itself thinks it deserves. I think that even Bowling itself knows what kind of a sport it is, and the league and its players probably respect that. That said, when you’ve got a guy like this rolling, I could easily see Bowling picking up in steam on the ratings. I don’t know who this guy is. I don’t know what his name is. I just know the he channels his inner Bob Ross every single time he tosses

Bob Ross is hands down one of the best television personalities of the last 100 years. The late painter was one of the most soothing and relaxing voices to ever air on PBS. He made you believe that with a little burnt sienna that you could make a masterpiece forest having zero artistic ability whatsoever. So when there’s Bob Ross news out there, you can be sure I’m reporting about it. Lately people have been completely obsessed with some guy who threw a Bob Ross themed birthday party where everyone had to make their own landscapes. Chris Nervegna from South

Known for writing original music for Disney’s Winnie the Pooh and Frozen, for which she and her husband, Robert Lopez, won an Academy Award and two GRAMMYs, Kristen Anderson-Lopez is now returning to her roots for her latest project: In Transit, an a cappella musical now in previews and officially opening on Broadway Sunday, Dec. 11. The show, starring Justin Guarini of American Idol fame, tells the intertwined stories of 11 New Yorkers navigating the challenges of city life.
Yes, before becoming a sought-after lyricist for upcoming films such as Disney’s Gigantic, Lopez made music with her mouth in the a cappella group Bob Ross Juice Box with In Transit’s book, music and lyric co-writers, James-Allen Ford, Russ Kaplan and Sara Wordsworth. Conan O'Brien and Wiz Khalifa tested out Gears of War 4 for Conan's "Clueless Gamer" segment on Thursday. But the clip was more about smoking weed, eating potato salad and joking about their lack of video game skills.

We have posted a couple videos by remix master melodysheep (John D. Boswell) before, but this afternoon I fell all the way down the rabbit hole and found these (admittedly old) classic PBS remixes. In a project for PBS Digital Studios, Mr. Boswell made remixes paying tribute to shows that, if you are a Gen-Xer or an older millennial, you probably watched on a shitty old tv that still had knobs and dials.
Beyond the novelty and nostalgia factor, which is strong, a couple of these are pretty good songs. Like, if the Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood song “Sing Together” came on the radio, I probably wouldn’t change the station. And, for some reason, the Bob Ross remix “Happy Little Clouds” is incredibly empowering and inspiring. I think hearing sweet Bob Ross tell me “This is your world/You’re the creator” every morning would significantly increase my daily productivity, and it’s not even some weird Asmr thing. On the other hand, while she was a boss, Julia Child was not necessarily known for her lyrical voice.
You can watch all of melodysheep's PBS remixes below, or check out his extensive library of remixes (including his Symphony of Science series) here. The man is prolific.

It’s a recipe famed television chef Julia Child never imagined: Start with a base of 100 million viewers watching people play video games, mix in a marathon of 50-year-old television episodes, and wait for gaming-cooking mashups to rise. Twitch, an Amazon site best known for live streams of people playing video games, will broadcast a four-day marathon of Child’s pioneering 1960s-era “The French Chef” cooking program as the kickoff for its own food channel. The stunt follows Twitch’s weeklong stream of painting instruction episodes by fellow PBS icon, Bob Ross. That October marathon of Ross’ sedate guidance for...

Twitch may have just launched a creative category and run a days-long live stream of Bob Ross, but at its core, it’s still a gaming live stream platform. And this week, the Amazon-owned site wants to share that love of gaming content with its users. Starting December 3, 2015, Twitch will let broadcasters co-stream content shot at the upcoming 2015 Game Awards and the PlayStation Experience 2015.
Twitch will cover the 2016 Game Awards (which pulled in 1.93 million live stream viewers in 2014) on December 3, as well as the PlayStation Experience event from December 4-5. According to a company blog post, Twitch is giving broadcasters “our official blessing to capture content” from either event for use on their channels, whether that’s a simple rebroadcast or a commentary session with viewers. All Twitch streamers need to do to co-stream Game Awards or PlayStation Experience content is set their game selection to their preferred event so...

When "Arrow" kicks off its new season Wednesday, fans will undoubtedly notice that Star City's crime-fighting archer has turned over a brand new leaf -- an emerald one, to be precise.
Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) spent the first three seasons of his successful CW series battling his inner demons by shooting holes in them with arrows, but after screening the superb Season 4 premiere, Moviefone is happy to report our hero has finally learned healthier ways to cope.
Last season ended with Ollie jumping into a convertible with his ladylove Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) as the two of them quite literally took the long and windy road toward happily ever after. A few months have passed by the time Season 4 picks up, but Oliver's shiny new disposition still holds strong. He eventually winds his way back to Star City, of course, but not before rebranding himself as the Green Arrow, complete with his greenest suit yet.

Before you ask, no, Bob Ross did not commit suicide. He’s just there to take us to our happy little place before we get into the sad stuff.
Bob really liked being an artist, and what is there not to like? You get to act like other people, play with paint and write bad poetry all day long. Sometimes you have the opportunity to dress in really fancy period garb, but most of the time you can just kick it in sweats and that shirt your kid vomited on but you never bothered to stain treat. If you really make it, studios will pay you millions of dollars to pretend to be someone else or millions of dollars to write novels that scare the hell out of full-grown adults. Now that’s an impressive career. So, what’s so bad about being an artist?

Who doesn't want a pleasurable tingling sensation to light up their brain? The term "autonomous sensory meridian response" (Asmr) is marked by a pleasurable tingling sensation - a micro-platonic-orgasm - often felt in the head. This can be triggered by anything from getting a haircut, hearing a paint brush against canvas, to listening to someone whisper. Not everyone feels it, but some of the lucky ones have joined together to create a social media movement that's changing lives.Lindsay Ragone's doc on the subject - and any movement that chooses the afro haired PBS painter Bob Ross as their unofficial patron saint is good in my book - traces the history of the online community that has sprung up spontaneously over the past few years on...

Who's the best artist of all time? Claude Monet? Leonardo Da Vinci? Bob Ross? Not quite. If you're asking me, there's no artist on this planet that can create stunning and breathtaking imagery quite like ole Mother Nature. Rather than paint brushes and canvases, Mother Nature uses the Earth as her artistic playground and tools like the five elements to completely put all other artists to shame. And you need to look no further than Lake Michigan in the winter to know what I'm talking about.
As documented by the website Cottage Life, the lighthouses on St. Joseph North Pier on the coast of Lake Michigan freeze over every winter, the frigid waters slamming into the pier and leaving behind icicles like you've never seen before. Words like majestic and magical suitably describe the annual display, though anyone who knows a thing or two about the works of H.P. Lovecraft...

Ellen Grossman, the woman who say next to Jay-z on a New York City subway back in December, has weighed-in on "Magna Carta Holy Grail."
MTV enlisted Grossman, a visual artist, to discuss select tracks from Jay's newest record. Her verdict: "Pretty amazing" ("Holy Grail"), good "energy" ("BBC") and "very sexy" ("Part II").
Not that Grossman was a total novice when it came to "Magna Carta Holy Grail." The Manhattanite had read early reviews of Jay-z's new album, and told MTV that it sounded like "he's really going deep into his heart and into fatherhood and even the meaning of fame."

The folks at Gritty Reboots have created another hybrid trailer, this time tackling the clever angle of bridging PBS "superheroes" with an The Avengers-style storyline. You'll recognize many familiar "characters," such as Mr. Rogers, Carl Sagan, Bob Ross, and Bill Nye, all teaming up to save the world from reality TV and the thirst for real knowledge.
