Burn This Letter Please”) and produced by Alex Gibney’s Jigsaw Productions in association with Law & Crime Productions, debuts Tuesday, December 6 (9:00-11:00 p.m. Et/Pt) with parts one and two, with part three debuting December 7 at 10:00 p.m. Et/Pt on HBO. A new documentary series from HBO will pull back the curtain on La Luz del Mundo, a secretive and nontraditional Christian denomination, and the sexual abuse that several members, many of them minors, say they have suffered at the hands of its successive leaders.
Titled “Unveiled: Surviving La Luz Del Mundo,” the HBO Original production will unfold in three parts. It was directed by award-winning filmmaker Jennifer Tiexiera, the director of “P.S. Burn This Letter Please,” and produced by Alex Gibney’s Jigsaw Productions in association with Law & Crime Productions.
In an interview with Variety, Tiexiera said she hoped to draw attention to a story that was not given much coverage by the media despite the global reach of the church. La Luz del Mundo (Lldm) claims to have congregations in over 50 countries and over five million followers, but it is an institution that is also cloaked in secrecy.

Chris Cuomo, terminated from a prominent CNN anchor job over the weekend, is giving up another perch.
Cuomo is also leaving SiriusXM, where he hosted a regular weekday radio program, “Let’s Get After It” — a title borrowed from a catchphrase he employed as part of his primetime program on CNN.
“The way my time ended at CNN was hard. While I have a thick skin, I also have a family, for whom the past week has been extraordinarily difficult. So right now, I have to take a step back and focus on what comes next,” Cuomo said via a Twitter post Monday. “That means I will no longer be doing my SiriusXM radio show.” Brian Ross, an investigative journalist, appeared Monday afternoon during Cuomo’s time slot.
“Following Chris Cuomo’s statement that he is leaving his SiriusXM show, ‘Let’s Get After It’ will no longer air,” SiriusXM said in a statement.

Large station owner Tenga Inc. struck a multi-year pact with Law & Crime Productions and Cineflix Rights to create original true-crime documentary series that utilize content from Tegna’s stations. The companies will launch their agreement with the production of 50 hour-long episodes, starting with a new series called “Cult Justice.”
The ten-episode series purports to examine the allure and power of cults. Every episode will tell the story of how law enforcement sought justice against different cult leaders through narratives from the survivors and police, accompanied by rare photos and videos. Some episodes focus on stories ripped from headlines, such as the Nxivm sex cult and The Family, a present-day iteration of the well-known Children of God cult.

Anyone who has interviewed CNN anchor Chris Cuomo knows he can talk his way out of trouble, and sometimes talk himself into it.
On TV, his 10 p.m. handoffs to Don Lemon sometimes go on long enough that producers must worry about having to push back a commercial break. In person, a conversation with Cuomo is usually loose and unfettered, and he can get to chatting so intensely that he forgets about the talking points his minders at CNN would like him to keep at hand.
He’s going to have to count on that gift of gab in days to come.
Cuomo’s easy way with conversing on air has helped him become CNN’s most-watched anchor, and executives at the WarnerMedia news outlet are no doubt hoping his avuncular interviewing style and the “let’s-get-after-it” primetime mantra he espouses on his show, “Cuomo Prime Time,” will carry him...

Joe Biden is making his first primetime address to the nation as President of the United States on Thursday, with the remarks set to begin at 8 p.m. Et/5 p.m. Pt, meaning the broadcast networks will be breaking in to their regularly scheduled lineups to cover it.
Biden has plenty to discuss, with the main topic the one-year anniversary of the Covid pandemic this week. It comes as a massive $1.9 trillion relief package passed by Congress this week heads to his desk for signature, the vehicle for Biden’s major bet that the stimulus will help fuel an economy hobbled by the virus.
Meanwhile, he has accelerated his original goal of having enough vaccines for every American by the end of May, even as the U.S. death toll nears 530,000.

David Wright has told many stories during his two decades at ABC News. Now he finds himself at the center of one of them.
Wright, a veteran correspondent who has reported from Beirut, Gaza, St. Peter’s Square and the Congo, was suspended by the Walt Disney-owned news outlet Tuesday after Project Veritas, a conservative organization that has made a name for itself by recording conversations with TV-news journalists in candid moments and releasing leaked video, ran a video of Wright talking openly about his opinions on President Trump and the political news cycle. In some of the moments show on the video, Wright discusses how ABC News covers candidates and even offers his own opinions on President Donald Trump as well as the candidacy of Senator Elizabeth Warren.
“Any action that damages our reputation for fairness and impartiality or gives the appearance of compromising it harms ABC News and the individuals involved.

First day of a very slow holiday week, the other shoe dropped on ABC News’ embarrassing Brian Ross situation. Ross announced today he and fellow investigative reporter Rhonda Schwartz are leaving the news operation after a quarter of a century.
The news presumably surprised no one. Back in December, ABC News suspended Ross for a month without pay, and demoted him, over his botched report on former national security adviser Michael Flynn. Ross, who had been Chief Investigative Correspondent for the network, reported that Flynn would testify that President Donald Trump ordered him to contact the Russians about foreign policy before Trump was elected.
In a statement issued today, Ross and Schwartz said, “After a great run of 24 years, we have decided to pack up and move on from ABC News, an organization that has meant so much to us.”

Brian Ross announced that he would be leaving ABC News after a 24-year career at the network and just months after he botched a major report about Gen. Michael Flynn and the Russia investigation.

“It’s time to say good-bye after 24 years at ABC News, an organization that has meant so much to us,” he said in the tweet. “While Rhonda Schwartz and I are signing off from ABC News, we are hardly leaving investigative journalism. There is much more to do.”

Washington — President Donald Trump again lashed out at Walt Disney Co. chairman and CEO Bob Iger, asking for an apology akin to the call he made to an Obama administration aide following “Roseanne” star Roseanne Barr’s controversial tweet.

Donald Trump continued to attack Robert Iger on Twitter this morning, two days after the Disney CEO called Valerie Jarrett to say he was pulling the plug on ABC’s Roseanne revival.
“Iger, where is my call of apology?” Trump tweeted this morning. “You and ABC have offended millions of people, and they demand a response. How is Brian Ross doing? He tanked the market with an ABC lie, yet no apology. Double Standard!”
Lot to unpack there. The day Disney-owned ABC announced it was canceling Roseanne over star Roseanne Barr’s tweet comparing former Obama adviser Jarrett to an ape, Trump was uncharacteristically silent. That night, Jarrett told MSNBC that Iger had called her before the cancellation was announced to inform her of the decision and apologize for the show star’s tweet.
