Rubinson was born in Brooklyn New York, on August 7,1942. In 1963 he
graduated from Columbia University with a BA English Lit. He worked as
an Associate Producer at Capitol Records during 1963-4. He was with
Columbia Records as a staff producer from 1964-69, after which he went
into partnership with Bill Graham in The Fillmore Corporation in San
Francisco. He rormed David Rubinson and Friends Inc. in 1971 and five
years later, built The Automatt, first automated studios in San
Francisco. He retired from record production in 1983 and since then has
run Artists Management, Film Production: which includes clients such as
Ryuichi Sakamoto, Marcel Marceau, Herbie Hancock, The Pointer Sisters
and Wayne Shorter.
