- Vincent Sardi Jr. was born on July 23, 1915 in New York City, New York, USA. He was an actor, known for The Muppets Take Manhattan (1984), My Favorite Year (1982) and Kraft Theatre (1947). He was married to Adelle Rasey, Carolyn Euiller and June Keller. He died on January 4, 2007 in Berlin, Vermont, USA.

- Served in the Marine Corps from 1942 through the end of World War II, attaining the rank of Captain and serving as a general's aide.
- Earned a degree at the Columbia Business School in 1937 and studied food service at the Ritz-Carlton for two years. He later served in the Marines during WWII where he managed the officer's mess and rest camp in Okinawa.
- Owned and operated the premiere Broadway restaurant Sardi's. The famed landmark has dined the rich and famous for over eight decades, becoming THE place where deals were made and wealthy hobnobbing is done. His father began the restaurant in 1921 and young Sardi purchased it from his father in 1947 when the elderly man retired. Sardi's was closed in 1990 after it went bankrupt, but Sardi reopened the landmark eatery in 1991 and was successful in revitalizing the business before retiring in 1997. His partner Max Klimavicius took over the management at that time and Sardi's continues into 2017.
