- Armand Schaefer was born on August 5, 1898 in Tavistock, Ontario, Canada. He was a production manager and producer, known for Burn 'Em Up Barnes (1934), The Three Musketeers (1933) and The Hurricane Express (1932). He was married to Audrey. He died on September 26, 1967 in Mono County, California, USA.

- According to director Frank McDonald, Schaefer was almost totally deaf; McDonald said, "The only things he heard were what you didn't want him to hear."
- The older brother of sound and visual effects worker, Gordon Schaefer. Both worked on several of the same movies, throughout their careers. The brothers are survived by a half-sister, still alive in 2009, who is living in Thornton, Colorado.
