ShockTillYouDrop.com was the first to tell you back in June that John Schneider was in Louisiana directing Smothered, a new horror film starring Kane Hodder, Ra Mihailoff and Bill Moseley playing themselves. Brea Grant was also set to star.
Now we have learned Don Shanks, Malcolm Danare, Amy Brassette, Shanna Forrestall and Dana Rhodes will also appear in the film which Schneider penned and concerns a group of horror vets working the convention circuit when they are stalked by a killer.

It was only a few years ago that the Nfc West was considered the worst division in the NFL, and all of pro football for that matter.
It was the laughing stock of the whole league as the Seattle Seahawks won a divisional title with a 7-9 record, becoming the first team ever to make the play-offs with a losing record back in 2010.
Fast forward a couple of years and it is difficult to picture how the Nfc West could be transformed into arguably the best and most interesting division in the NFL, as we approach the start of the 2013 season in a little over a weeks time.
The situation was so dire that a genuine discussion was held about whether the governing body of the league needed to alter – or at the very least look at – the seeding system for the play-offs.
Now as the long off-season prepares to draw to a close,...

Is she truly evil, totally bonkers or just misunderstood? Tika Sumpter stirs it up plenty on the Tyler Perry sudser The Haves and the Have Nots (Tuesdays at 9/8c on Own) as Candace Young, the gold-digging hooker — excuse us, gentleman's escort — who is bedding and blackmailing Judge Jim Cryer (John Schneider). The former One Life to Live and Gossip Girl star gave TV Guide Magazine the lowdown on her down-low character.

And while you’re at it, Karen (yep, that’s Yunjin Kim a.k.a. Sun from Lost), just step away from any/everything involving the family of your dead, married, lover/patient! Is anyone going to watch ABC’s Mistresses with me? Awesome.
Stop it, Sun! I understand why it’s taking awhile for Karen (technically the only real “mistress” of the four main characters…so far) to get over ageless handsome-monster John Schneider, whom we saw in some blow torch-enriched flashbacks. “I’m not done with Tom,” Karen confesses to Savannah (Alyssa Milano), who tries to convince her to move on.

Yes, it's true. Kane Hodder will be playing himself in a new Horror film where the tables are turned and he (the former Jason Voorhees) and other genre vets are stalked by a killer in a film titled Smothered. Turnabout is fair play don't you think? Who better to direct this mash-up than one of the Dukes Of Hazzard?! No, it's not the guy who played Boss Hog, but John Schneider, the blonde Bo Duke from the show who also starred in the long running…...

The pilot for Mistresses will undoubtedly draw comparisons to the HBO series Sex and the City. Four girlfriends traversing the complicated world of relationships, only this time the setting is sunny southern California instead of the clubs and fashions of New York City.
Although both shows have their similarities, Mistresses - a remake of a UK series - feels a little more mature. Perhaps it's because half of this gorgeous foursome starts out having already taken the leap into married life.
The women of Mistresses are dealing with the consequences of infidelity, sometimes their own, sometimes done to them... and those consequences aren't always what you'll expect.
Alyssa Milano plays Savannah (Savi) Davis, the central character of our group. Savi and super-hot husband Harry are trying to make a baby and it's taking it's toll. Nothing ruins a couples sex life quicker than taking temperatures and counting days.

Chicago – At its worst, ABC’s “Mistresses” feels like “Nicholas Sparks: The TV Series” with all the horrendous plotting and melodrama that implies. At its best, it feels like a “Desperate Housewives” knock-off, in which the charisma of its leading ladies get viewers past the writing flaws. It’s mostly the former - a cliched, surface-level soap opera more reminiscent of a Lifetime mini-series than what used to qualify for network TV.
Television Rating: 2.0/5.0
“Mistresses” opens with a sex scene and then shots of Alyssa Milano walking in slo-mo to a bar. They know what you’re here for. “Meeting someone?” “Well, I thought I was. But now that you’re here, I’m changing plans.” Ooooh, sexy. Of course, it’s immediately revealed to be a faux sexiness as the couple is revealed to be a married one role-playing and the sex scene turns to a discussion of ovulation.

John Schneider is about to make J.R. Ewing look like a wimp. The former Smallville and Dukes of Hazzard fave is starring in Tyler Perry's feverish new Own sudser The Haves and the Have Nots as patriarch Jim Cryer, a fantastically wealthy, power-mad judge who intends to become Georgia's next governor. Yet he's happy to risk it all for the company of some high-priced hookers.
"This is the role that may finally get people to stop calling me Bo Duke," says Schneider, who notes he hasn't gone this dark since he played porn mogul Ram Peters on Nip/Tuck. "I'm usually cast as the guy who lives on a dirt road — the one who'll be there to sandbag your house when you need help. That ain't Cryer."

Coming sometime to SyFy, I'm sure...Return of the Killer Shrews, a sequel to the hokey 1950s film The Killer Shrews.
I'm not entirely sure why someone thought that film warranted a sequel but, hey, here you go. James Best, John Schneider, Jennifer Lyons, Jason Shane Scott and Bruce Davison star and we have a trailer for you inside.
The story? A TV reality show hires Captain Thorne Sherman (Best) and his boat to ferry supplies to the deserted island filming location. As the TV crew and two-fisted animal expert Johnny Reno (Schneider) shoot their reality show, some of the cast and crew go missing, attacked and eaten in a bloody feeding frenzy by strange creatures. No one is prepared when they realize the place is crawling with giant Killer Shrews! The result of a 50-year-old experiment gone terribly wrong, the shrews are fast and ferocious, stripping the flesh from their screaming victims in seconds.

Chicago – “October Baby,” which has generated a bit of controversy as we rarely see widely-released films that preach so directly to the pro-life choir and was recently released on Blu-ray and DVD, is an incredibly frustrating film. Laying the political hot-button issue aside (and, for the sake of disclosure, I feel like I should note that I am strongly pro-choice), there are things to like here, especially the strong performances from Rachel Hendrix and Jasmine Guy. To be honest, it’s the stuff that’s generally unrelated to the emotional/political core of the film — the non-controversial material — that is the film’s downfall. Whether you’re pro-choice or pro-life, the road movie comedy and romantic drama that are shoehorned into this coming-of-age story are the parts that don’t work. When the film does allow Hendrix the emotional arc, she delivers and the tears are jerked.

Alphas: Malik Yoba and Erin Way Discuss Kat's Introduction Tonight!
Syfy's hit action-drama, Alphas, adds a beguiling new team member tonight in the form of petite, mysterious Kat. Talented Erin Way (Detroit 1-8-7, When You Find Me) plays young loner Kat whose Alpha ability is a touch-based memory skill, like an instant download, that unfortunately wipes away old memories to make way for the new. Malik Yoba (a.k.a. Agent Bill Harken) and the effulgent Way recently spoke with press, on separate dates, as the show neared the end of filming for Season Two.

Of the two biggest franchise-launchers of 1977, one involved a pair of rebellious outlaws with a shaggy sidekick, a runaway heroine, a Mutt-and-Jeff pair of tall-short comic relief characters, epic-length chases, spectacular stunts, and endless vehicular mayhem. The other was "Star Wars." Yep, we're talkin' "Smokey and the Bandit," which opened 35 years ago this week (on May 27, 1977) and wound up grossing more money than any movie that year except for George Lucas' interstellar road adventure. It also launched a truckload of sequels on film and TV, gave Burt Reynolds his most iconic role, helped make movie stars out of country guitarist Jerry Reed and TV sitcom starlet Sally Field, provided a career comeback for Jackie Gleason, and sent Pontiac Trans Am sales soaring. Still, as popular as Reynolds and his muscle car were, there's plenty about "Smokey and the Bandit" that you may not know. Read on to learn Bandit's real name,...

ABC‘s slate of new shows for fall has a strange flavor to it, and it’s going to be a bumpy ride. The network has about as many new shows as returning ones (if you count all the midseasons), and a good percentage of the returning offerings are a year old or less, making this look a bit like a rebuilding year.
Not only is it a rebuilding year, but it’s the year of bringing back every actor and actress who ever had a decent run on a show before. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a network’s new season slate that was so crammed with people returning from something else. If you can’t make it good, I suppose, make sure viewers recognize the faces.

Jody Hill, the co-creator of HBO's "Eastbound and Down" and director of "Observe and Report" and "The Foot Fist Way," is now writing a new film that's set in the American South. He's also attached to helm. The story is set in the 1970s South and involves an outlaw duo. Hill is aiming to make a stylish action movie similar to Sam Peckinpah's "Wild Bunch" and "The Getaway." The project could become a reboot of "The Dukes of Hazzard," which was originally a TV series that ran from 1979 till 1985 as starred Tom Wopat and John Schneider as adventure-loving cousins in Georgia. A decision won't be made about whether to call the film a "Dukes of Hazzard" reboot until Hill is finished writing. But since Billy Gerber, who produced the 2005 film that starred Seann William Scott and Johnny Knoxville, is also producing Hill's movie, there's a good chance we'll have...

If Alec Baldwin is looking for a worthy Words With Friends opponent, Peter Facinelli might just be up for the challenge. The Scrabble-like game is his go-to when he's waiting for a flight. (As opposed to on the flight, a move that got Baldwin kicked off an American Airlines plane last December.) "I really get into the zone," Facinelli, 38, tells The New York Times in a Frequent Flier column. "I was so into the zone once that I didn't realize it was time to board a flight." "October Baby" was released in just 390 theaters last weekend, but that didn't stop the film from making a sizable impact on the box office. Only "The Hunger Games" and "21 Jump Street" had better per-screen averages among films in the top-ten, and "October Baby" earned an impressive $1.6 million over the three-day frame, topping Hollywood blockbusters like "Safe House," "Journey 2: Mysterious Island" and "This Means War" in the process. (Those films were in their seventh, seventh and sixth weekends of release, respectively.)
Why did "October Baby" perform so well? Perhaps because of its subject matter: the indie feature is about a college freshman who finds out she was adopted after surviving a failed late-term abortion. That lightning-rod premise gave "Baby" a good amount of press over the last week, , mobilizing church groups to local theaters. According to the Los Angeles Times, "October Baby" was released in Alabama, Tennessee and Mississippi by...

October Baby, a movie with a miniscule marketing budget and controversial (at least in Hollywood) for its pro-life message surprised the industry with a $4,300 per-screen opening last weekend at 390 theaters. The movie stars former Dukes of Hazzard heartthrob and practicing Christian John Schneider, who also stars in another film with a similar theme called Doonby, set for a summer release. The Hollywood Reporter’s Paul Bond caught up to Schneider on the set of TV Land’s Happily Divorced to ask him: what’s up with all the anti-abortion message movies? The Hunger Games wasn’t this weekend’s only box office success story. As Katniss Everdeen fought for her freedom on screens across the country, a humble pro-life film called October Baby quietly opened in just 390 theaters. That modest release, which co-stars Jasmine Guy and John Schneider, ended up earning a cool $1,718,000 — enough to put it among the weekend’s top eight earners.

If only October Baby played it straight with no agenda. The advent of the mega-church I believe has led to a mega-church sponsored filmmaking, with Courageous being the last film in this category. The problem is these films fit a melodramatic niche, produced by non-filmmakers the language developed is, shall we say, risk adverse. It’s enough to have a sad scene, but it must be heightened by music that tells you how exactly to feel and the grammar is a bit off. It’s a shame, October Baby tells a highly compelling story with strong performances and excellent cinematography by its co-director Jon Erwin. His brother and co-director Andrew Erwin is perhaps to blame, as he’s the editor.

This Weekend’s Winner: The Hunger Games (No. 1 with $155 million in North America, and a whopping $214 million globally) Honorable mention: Samuel Goldwyn Films’ anti-abortion evangelical bait October Baby (with John Schneider and Jasmine Guy!) landed at No. 8 with $1.7 million, giving it the second-highest per screen average this weekend, and from not even 400 theaters at that. Perhaps its release benefited from all those Rick Santorum fans looking to go out and do something fun to celebrate his Louisiana win? This Weekend’s Loser: Twilight: New Moon, which debuted to only $142 million in November 2009. (Relax! We’re only saying that to get all you Stephenie Meyer fans into a psychotic lather … No, but seriously: Suck it, Bella!)How It All Went Down: Yes, it made more than Twilight and became the third biggest opening for a movie, ever. But how? “The brilliant marketing made the movie feel...

For members of Generation X, Pauly Shore will forever be "The Weasel" from MTV. In the mid-'90s he parlayed that success into a string of movies where he essentially played the same California laid back character. But since that time, he's expanded into other types of roles, like his latest as the son of a mobster who runs away to the country in "Whiskey Business" (Sun., 7 p.m. Et on Cmt).
The original movie has the now 44-year old actor playing Nicky Ferelli, a guy who runs from his mob family -- where he's been framed for murder -- and finds himself in a small town down south. He uses his skills from back home as a flair bartender to make some impressive moonshine, which gets him on the radar of the local law enforcement, led by the Sheriff, played by John Schneider.

The film "October Baby" opened in just under 400 theaters this weekend, and considering its small release, it's already seen great success, with a per-theater average that trails just behind "The Hunger Games."
The independent film tells the story of a college freshman who learns that she was adopted by her parents and is the survivor of an attempted abortion. Directed by Andrew and Jon Erwin, the faith-bath movie stars Rachel Hendrix as Hannah and "Smallville's" John Schneider as her adopted father.
When Hannah learns she was nearly aborted, she sets out to find her birth mother. Jasmine Guy plays a nurse who describes in detail the procedure that Hannah's birth mother had.
Positive word-of-mouth from faith-based groups and conservatives has driven the film to surprising success -- to some degree. When it was released last fall timed to a "personhood" initiative in Mississippi, funded by the American Family Association, it...

Chicago – When reading the plot synopsis for the film “October Baby,” there were a few things I already expected. “A college freshman’s world is rocked when she learns she is the adopted survivor of an attempted abortion” (IMdb). While this is clearly a recipe for melodrama and emotion, writers Jon Erwin and Cecil Stokes ended up creating a story that is even more unrealistic than I first imagined. Luckily for them, the film is still salvaged by some strong acting performances and some engaging visuals.
