Hollywood Democrats are getting nervous about recent polls that show the race between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump tightening. “I’m freaked out,” David Schneiderman, co-owner and founder of Seismic Productions and prominent Clinton supporter, told TheWrap. “I now post stuff on Facebook every day bugging all my friends to do something. No one wants to wake up to Donald Trump on November 8.” A Tuesday CNN/Orc poll showing Trump leading Clinton in a head-to-head match for the first time in six weeks caught some of Clinton’s staunchest industry supporters and donors by surprise. It is one of the...

Hollywood Democrats are increasingly uneasy with how ugly the race between Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders has become in recent days. The vicious mudslinging between the two Democratic presidential candidates — already being described as a “tipping point” by pundits — is being felt all the way to Los Angeles’ entertainment industry, long considered the party’s donor hub. “I’m so over it,” David Schneiderman, co-owner and founder of Seismic Productions and Clinton supporter, told TheWrap. “They both need to be very careful with each other.” Also Read: Bernie Sanders, Hillary Clinton Bad Blood Turns Toxic Over Sandy Hook Los Angeles...

The Associated Press finally declared Clinton the winner at 10:04 a.

Sunday July 15th is the last day of Comic-Con 2012, and most of us will be completely worn out looking like Spider-Man in the image above. Chances are he's asleep under that mask. Sunday has always been a cool down day for us, we kind of just try to relax a little bit more and enjoy it. That doesn't mean their isn't anything to see or do though!
We've got a Fringe screening and Q&A, Doctor Who, Buffy the Vampire Slayer 20th Anniversary, Sons of Anarchy, the annual Buffy the Vampire Slayer musical screening, and more! I've always wanted to go the Buffy musical sing-a-long, but am usually trying to leave San Diego before it starts.
Just a little reminder, we will be having our annual GeekTyrant meet up this year to meet our readers, which is something we always enjoy doing! That will take place on Wednesday night, and...

[1] Seth Rogen is probably most familiar from the R-rated comedies he's starred in, many of them involving Judd Apatow. But he's actually got a plenty of experience with family-friendly credits as well, lending his vocal talents to films like Horton Hears a Who! and the Kung Fu Panda films. Now, he's signed on to produce and possibly star in a new project that'll likely fall in the latter category, a Disney spy comedy called The B Team. More details after the jump. Variety [2] reports that the story revolves around an top agent who gets kidnapped and must depend on his nerdy tech support and research team to save him. Disney's had the project in development since 2008, when it acquired the pitch from writers Derek Guiley and David Schneiderman. Charles Segars is set to produce with Rogen, and Guiley and Schneider's manager to executive produce. The B Team is just the...

Variety is reporting Seth Rogen has signed on to produce The B-Team for Disney. More than likely he will also star. The B-Team, written by Derek Guiley and David Schneiderman, has been gestating at Disney for about three years now. I assume the hope is with Rogen attached the project will pick up some forward momentum and actually get made. I'm guessing they will get a bigger name, maybe with an action background, to play the spy, and Rogen will lead the b-team of the title. The plot of The B-Team follows a top agent who gets captured, and its up to his "B-Team" of researchers and tech people to rescue him. Think Tom Cruise getting captured at the start of Mission: Impossible and Simon Pegg has to take the lead and save him. Actually, that sounds like much better casting. I should call J.J. Abrams and tell him I...

Seth Rogen is about to accept his own impossible mission.
The "Green Hornet" himself is set to go undercover as he's signed on to produce and possibly star in Disney's new spy comedy, "The B Team," according to Variety.
"The B Team" tells the tale of a kidnapped secret agent whose only hope for rescue lies in his support team of technicians and research assistants -- kind of like if gadgets specialist Q had to rescue James Bond. All other details of the script by Derek Guiley and David Schneiderman are currently classified.
This sounds like the perfect starring vehicle for Rogen, as we're assuming he would be playing one of the tech geeks who suddenly has to be a field agent. Then again, he did pretty well as the Green Hornet, so he could probably play the kidnapped spy, too.
Rogen is actually no stranger to producing, as he's...

Seth Rogen has plans to produce and potentially star in a spy comedy called The B Team , being developed at Walt Disney Pictures, Variety reports. The plot is said to involve a top-level spy who, after getting kidnapped, has to be rescued by his second-tier support team. The film is based on a 2008 pitch by Derek Guiley and David Schneiderman. At the time, the title was in question due to 20th Century Fox's film adaptation of the television series The A-Team and the Sony project, also titled The B Team , which later became the Adam McKay comedy The Other Guys . Ever busy, Rogen appeared earlier this year in The Green Hornet , Paul , 50/50 , Take This Waltz and Kung Fu Panda 2 . He can next been seen in the comedy My Mother's Curse . The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has released its annual list of invited new members, and it’s clear they’re continuing to try to make their membership younger. On the list alongside veterans like John Hawkes and David Duchovny are a slew of twentysomethings, including Mia Wasikowska, Ellen Page, Jesse Eisenberg, Mila Kunis, Beyonce Knowles, Jennifer Lawrence, and Rooney Mara. The Board of Governors also decided to extend an invitation to Restrepo codirector Tim Hetherington, the first time Academy membership has been bestowed posthumously. As a side note, it’s also a hoot to now say the phrase Oscar voter Russell Brand.

Beverly Hills, CA . The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences is extending invitations to join the organization to 178 artists and executives who have distinguished themselves by their contributions to theatrical motion pictures. Those who accept the invitation will be the only additions in 2011 to the Academy.s roster of members.
.These individuals are among the best filmmakers working in the industry today,. said Academy President Tom Sherak. .Their talent and creativity have entertained moviegoers around the world, and I welcome each of them to our ranks..
The Academy.s membership policies would have allowed a maximum of 211 new members in 2011, but as in other recent years, several branch committees endorsed fewer candidates than were proposed to them. Voting membership in the organization has now held steady at just under 6,000 members since 2003.
In an unprecedented gesture, the list of new members includes documentary filmmaker Tim Hetherington, who was killed in action in Libya in April.

The aliens from Sony's "District 9" scored big during The Hollywood Reporter's 39th annual Key Art Awards.
Honoring the best in movie marketing, Friday's event at Vibiana in downtown Los Angeles saw "District 9" take home 11 awards, including the best-in-show prize for its integrating marketing campaigning as well as three other best-in-show laurels for its outdoor advertising (built around its "Bus Stop for Humans Bus Shelter"), TV spots and digital campaign.
The awards ceremony culminated with Sylvester Stallone receiving the Visionary Award, given annually to a filmmaker who inspires movie marketers.
"At the end of the day, there is no question that Sylvester Stallone delivers great product," THR publisher Lori Burgess said before calling Stallone to the candlelit stage at what once was the altar of the former St. Vibiana Roman Catholic cathedral, which has been converted to a party space. "He's put his stamp on film like very few people of his generation.

First Matt Damon, then Ben Affleck, and now Wayne McClammy is gunning for ... Kip?
McClammy has signed on to direct the revenge comedy "Beat Kip" for Paramount Vantage. A spokesperson for Paramount could not confirm.
"Kip" tells the story of three buddies who travel across the country to confront an Ivy League nemesis who stole one of the guys' girlfriends. Comedy Central is producing.
Vantage, which recently merged into Paramount proper with attendant staff downsizing, optioned Todd Waldman and Rob Kerkovich's original screenplay in March. Waldman and Kerkovich are USC graduates who created the Summer of Tears comedy troupe, which has toured the country since 2004 behind its online shorts.
McClammy is the segment producer on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" who this year directed and co-wrote the popular short video spoofs "I'm Fucking Matt Damon" and "I'm Fucking Ben Affleck." They logged tens of millions of hits and prompted a career surge for McClammy, who also directs episodes of "The Sarah Silverman Program."
McClammy, repped by Paradigm and Rain Management Group, has the comedy spec "Le Car" set up at MGM with co-writer Will Burke. The writer-director also is attached to helm "Cool School," a Fox comedy written by Derek Guiley, David Schneiderman and Mark Perez.
Jay A. Fernandez reported from Los Angeles; Gregg Goldstein reported from New York.
