It takes awhile before we get to not just the heart of documentarian and cinematographer Julie Lunde Lillesæter’s feature directorial debut “An Army of Women,” but the actual plot of it. The filmmaker spends precious early minutes introducing us to subjects (both named and unnamed), reams of legal papers, and the lingering sense we’re about to watch something wrenching unfold. But that seeming disorganization and unwieldiness might be the point of this entire exercise because what Lillesæter is about to spin over the course of a surprisingly economical 84 minutes is a story about disorganization, unwieldiness, and misdirection — and what happens when we don’t simply give in to such confusion.
When Lillesæter does get to the story at hand, it’s gobsmacking. “An Army of Women” chronicles the protracted progress made by a 2018 class action lawsuit that accused the city of Austin, Travis County, the Austin Police Department,...

Potchefstroom, Jan 22 (Ians) After being undefeated in the group stage of U19 Women’s T20 World Cup, India were handed their first loss of the tournament through a seven-wicket defeat to Australia in their first Super Sixes clash at the North-West University Oval.
Australia captain Rhys McKenna won the toss and chose to bowl first, and that decision paid off as they dismissed India for just 87. Opener Shweta Sehrawat (21 off 29 balls) was the best amongst the Indian batters, striking three boundaries against the new ball.
But she lost her partners all too often, as pacer Milly Illingworth struck twice in the early stages to take out captain Shafali Verma and Gongadi Trisha. Maggie Clarke came on and did a similar trick, getting rid of Sonia Mendhiya (2) and the dangerous Richa Ghosh (7) in quick succession.
India continued to lose key wickets, and Sehrawat was the fifth victim midway through the 11th over.

Sydney, Oct 9 (Ians) New Zealand all-rounder Hayley Jensen has put pen to paper with the Hobart Hurricanes for the upcoming sixth edition of the Women's Big Bash League (Wbbl) slated to start from October 25.
The 28-year-old has previously played for both the Melbourne Renegades and Stars and the Perth Scorchers in the Wbbl, and comes back to the competition after a hiatus during last edition of the tournament.
Hobart Hurricanes general manager Scott Barnes commented that Jensen's performance in both the recent White Ferns tour of Australia and the 2020 T20 World Cup brought her into the mix for the Hurricanes.
"The New Zealand cricket system has been great for Hayley, and I'm confident that she will rotate into the squad pretty easily," said Barnes.
"She's first played for the Kiwis in the 2013/14 season, and to have notched up a Player of the Match award in the team's first World Cup...
