- Tucker Smith was born on April 24, 1936 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA. He was an actor, known for West Side Story (1961), The Producers (1967) and At Long Last Love (1975). He died on December 22, 1988 in Los Angeles, California, USA.
- In Gilda Radner's autobiography "It's Always Something" she mentions her excitement at having Smith, her heartthrob from when she was a girl, in her cancer support group.
- In the 1970s Smith owned and operated a bar, "Tucker's Turf", in North Hollywood, CA.
- Tucker Smith did NOT play the role of Ice on Broadway since the character was not even in the original stage production. The role of Ice was created for the film. Smith did appear on Broadway as a replacement in the roles of Riff, Diesel, and as one of the Jets.
- Thomas 'Tucker' Smith was named 'Tucker' after the nursery rhyme, 'Little Tommy Tucker'. Tucker sang as a child and his sisters teased him with the rhyme, 'Little Tommy Tucker sings for his supper.' Tucker became his name after that.
- Played the role of "Ice" on Broadway in "West Side Story". After his move to Hollywood, where he reprised the role in the film version (West Side Story (1961)) of the play, he joined the Screen Extras Guild and continued to work in film and TV as an extra until just before his death in 1988. He often worked as a stand-in--most notably for Bill Bixby on the series The Incredible Hulk (1978).
