The Vampire Diaries lost a few good (wo)men Thursday night, but one death was more painful and poignant than the others. Before we name this doomed character outright, I’ll offer up a big Spoiler Alert, and advise you to move ahead — with caution — to find out how the offed actress really feels about her Mystic Falls fate.
Sadly, Sara Canning – aka Elena and Jeremy’s beloved Aunt Jenna and Alaric’s gal pal — was one of four actors to see their alter ego bite the dust in Thursday night’s jaw-dropping installment of The CW’s sophomore drama,...

The Vampire Diaries Episode 2.21 "The Sun Also Rises" Written By: Caroline Dries & Mike Daniels Directed By: Paul M. Sommers Original Airdate: 5 May 2011 In This Episode... We waste no time picking up right where last week left off. As Elijah explains to Stefan and his posse, the kill order goes werewolf, vampire, doppelganger. So Jules, as the sacrificial wolf, gets offed first. Before Klaus can move on to Jenna, Stefan offers himself up in her place. Klaus is amused at the thought of leaving the decision up to Elena, but he has "other plans" for Stefan. Klaus stakes Stefan, but not fatally - just pinning him to the...

There was only one part of this week's episode of "The Vampire Diaries" that I was looking forward to, and that was the scene where Damon tells Stefan about his werewolf bite. Those two are at their best when they're together.
As for the rest of the episode... I was completely dreading it. First of all, we've been warned left and right about how sad it would be, and sad things generally do not make me happy, for they are sad. Additionally, I figured that the actual sacrifice couldn't possibly live up the the hype.
I'm happy to say that I was wrong on both counts. Let's jump in, shall we?
Previously on "The Vampire Diaries": Elijah talked so much.
8:01 - Matt! In the first scene of the episode! Unfortunately, it's hard to get excited about his presence when he just shot Tyler. Why is Matt so comfortable with a gun?...

We love getting new info on upcoming episodes of "The Vampire Diaries", but with Season Two winding down in just a few weeks, we're tempted to tell The CW to Slow Down a bit with the goods and let us savor the time we have left. Alas, we doubt they'd listen anyway so here are close to a dozen stills from the upcoming Episode 21, "The Sun Also Rises", the next to last ep of the season.

The current break in airings of "The Vampire Diaries" will be over on April 7th, and then fans of the series will have just a two-week wait before seeing how well Joseph Morgan fares in the role of original vampire Klaus. If his co-star Ian Somerhalder is correct, we can expect him to be "magnificent".
@IanSomerhalder tweeted tonight: At dinner with Julie Plec, Paul Sommers(Tvd director of photography),Elena, Stefan,Elijah, and Klaus. This got us a little curious as to when exactly Klaus might be making his debut, and thanks to EW.com the date of April 21st has been confirmed.
Per EW, Morgan’s casting is in line with what exec producers have teased all along. Exec producer Kevin Williamson [said] the role would go to someone younger. “It has to be someone that we truly believe was in a relationship with Katherine because that’s where it started.
