Holland took on Scotland in a crucial under 21 qualifying match as both sides hope to qualify for the 2013 under 21 Championships which will be held in Israel. Holland topped the group on nine points, before heading into this clash, whilst the Scots sat in third.
Scotland started the match very brightly as Celtic winger Jamie Forrest used his pace to create a yard of space down the right wing and delivered a loopy cross to in-form Huddersfield striker Jordan Rhodes, who made his senior debut for Scotland against Cyprus a couple of days ago, and Rhodes neatly headed his effort into the back of the Holland net on the 2nd minute mark. A perfect start for the visitors.
On 6 minutes Baratize, the former Arsenal forward, had a close range effort blocked by Mark Ridgers in the Scotland goal. The Scots kept possession well in the first ten minutes and made Holland work hard.
