Dedicated to honoring the life and work of late horror master George A. Romero and supporting a new generation of filmmakers and artists inspired by his legacy, The George A. Romero Foundation is looking for a little help from horror fans this Halloween season.
The team explains, “Last year, the community came together and raised over 15,000 which helped us with exciting projects including the live release of George’s lost film, The Amusement Park as well as the launch of the new mascot, Garchy.
“This year, we’re counting on you again to help the foundation continue keeping George’s legacy alive by restoring his work and supporting young filmmakers with grants.”

One of the more elusive films of the past few years has been Mortal Remains. We've been lucky enough to report on it, but there have been very few screenings. Well, East Coast, not one, but two Mortal Remains presentations are coming your way this June.
We've heard rumors that Mortal Remains will be playing at the Bizarre AC II festival being held June 13-15 in The Tropicana Casino and Resort in Atlantic City, NJ. The final details have not yet been released so keep an eye on the fest's website for upcoming information.

Get ready for 10 truly terrifying nights when Washington, D.C.’s Spooky Movie International Horror Film Festival haunts the AFI Silver Theatre on Oct 10-19 for the fest’s 8th annual edition.
Things really jolt alive on the 10th with the Opening Night film Willow Creek, a surprising genre entry by comedian-turned-director Bobcat Goldthwait, who tells the tale about a couple of amateur Bigfoot hunters who get in way over their heads in the woods. Goldthwait will be on hand for a post-screening Q&A moderated by Film Comment‘s Laura Kern. Also playing on this opening night are a program of scary short films and the feature An American Terror, a post-Columbine fright flick by Haylar Garcia.
As for the other nine nights, sticking true to the “International” in the fest’s name are movies such as the Ireland/France/Sweden co-production Dark Touch by Marina de Van about...

On the verge of unleashing their new indie film Mortal Remains on the world, Christian Stavrakis and Mark Ricche, the men behind the Cryptic Pictures production company, sat down with Dread Central to talk about their flick and reveal a new trailer.
Co-written, co-directed and co-produced by Stavrakis and Ricche, Mortal Remains is having a sneak preview at Horror Realm in Pittsburgh, Pa, on Saturday, March 16th, with the creators in attendance for a Q&A.
