Stand-up comic Simon Gibson will be a sideline reporter.
The 10-episode Cannonball premieres on USA this summer, with contestants competing in challenges like sliding off a 100-foot waterslide and rocketing off one of the world’s fastest drop towers. Winner of the water obstacles gets a $10K cash prize.
Mizanin also stars in USA’s reality show Miz and Mrs. He got his start on MTV’s The Real World: Back to New York before making his WWE debut in 2006, going on to star in WWE Studios films including The Marine franchise and Santa’s Little Helper.
Cannonball is produced by ITV America’s ITV Entertainment, based on the original format by ITV Studios Netherlands Content B.V. and licensed by ITV Studios.

USA Network has picked up “Cannonball,” a competition show that pits contestants against one another in “splashy” challenges for a cash prize, to series, the network announced on Wednesday.
According to USA, “the series features 16 larger-than-life personalities willing to jump into the deep end and compete in four rounds of physical challenges – from the speed slide Mega-Ramp to a thrilling Drop Tower to the explosive Air Cannon and more. Each round eliminates more hopefuls, until finally one champion remains.”

The new Fox reality competition series “Bullseye” will challenge that merit when it premieres next month, hosted by Hercules himself, “Twilight” actor Kellen Lutz. ABC announced their summer offering schedule, though the big kick is coming as early May 14th with The Bachelorette. New and returning shows are likely to get a fair amount of marketing love, as summer programming, especially with the influx of cable hotlist shows, has taken off over the last few years.
Rookie Blue looks fairly interesting, and Secret Millionaire did pretty well before, so we’ve got that at least. Keep a close eye on Trust Us With Your Life, and mark your calendars. The odd spin on improv comedy could be hilarious.

ABC has announced the original programming it will be featuring during the summer of 2011. If you're a fan of reality TV, you're in luck, because the alphabet has new episodes of Wipeout, Bachelor Pad, and The Bachelorette coming down the pipeline, as well as a new show about karaoke, two Amazing Race-ish challenge shows, a new Extreme Makeover spinoff, and a game show built around people exiting a game show. Joining the mostly unscripted line-up, which can be found on Tuesdays and Thursdays, will be the second season of Rookie Blue and military hospital drama The Hot Zone.

Wipeout has attracted quite a large number of viewers aged 18 to 49, which is the target of most advertisers, thus making the show very popular amongst ad makers. The show, which has constantly been compared with Most Extreme Elimination Challenge, boasts of larger-than-life obstacle courses in which 24 new contenders must survive every week to eventually win the title of Wipeout Champion and a grand prize of $50,000.
