Many movies are only as good as their villain. So it goes with the "Fast and Furious" franchise that has somehow managed to produce 11 films (and counting) despite lukewarm success in the bad guy category. Our heroes, led by Vin Diesel's fearless Dominic Toretto, have gone toe-to-toe with a staggering collection of veteran actors with mixed results, often achieving victory relatively quickly in the face of seemingly insurmountable obstacles.
Thankfully, a handful of notable evil-doers in the "Fast Saga" stand out amongst the fleet and punch above the script on the way to bad-guy glory. With the new "Fast X" driving over box office records, we thought it'd be prudent to run through the entire series and separate the villains who kicked it into fifth gear from those stuck on neutral. So, we present all the villains in the "Fast and Furious" franchise (including Jason Momoa) ranked from worst...

The entire “The Fast and Furious” universe consists of 13 installments: 10 movies, one show and two short films. The world of fast cars, illegal street racing and iconic beefs was created by Gary Scott Thompson. The writer, director and producer kicked off the franchise with the first film “The Fast and the Furious,” which was directed by Rob Cohen, with a story by Thompson and Ken Li.
The first film in what would become a country-hopping international franchise, starred Paul Walker, Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Matt Schulze and Ricky Yune and more. “The Fast and the Furious” told the story of Dominic Toretto (Diesel), who has a passion and drive for street racing, and after a run-in with Johnny Tran (Yune), he takes racing newcomer Brian (Walker) under his wing. However, Dom and his sister Mia (Brewster) have no idea that he’s an undercover cop, and they are...

The "Fast and Furious" saga is one of Hollywood's purest movie franchises, one that understands the primordial appeal of exciting spectacle, dumb plots, and larger-than-life characters, as well as earnest melodrama and a focus on family that other franchises simply can't replicate.
This is also a movie franchise unafraid to reinvent itself, to destroy its continuity for the sake of a better story and spectacle. The only rule in these movies is the rule of cool. Because of how often the franchise is retentive while also retconning itself, each movie's villain is as different as they can be from each other.
And yet, there are two clear camps when it comes to "Fast and Furious" baddies. There are the ones with a personal vendetta against Dominic Toretto or the "fambly," and then there's everyone else. The thing is, time and time again, the franchise has made it clear that the...

The Fast and Furious franchise has had its fair share of unforgettable villains, including Johnny Tran (Rick Yune), Carter Verone (Cole Hauser), Owen Shaw (Luke Evans), Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham), and Cipher (Charlize Theron) to name a few. Each character is larger than life and knows how to disrupt the Fast family dynamic. However, a new nemesis with a significant axe to grind is about to enter the driver’s seat for Fast X, and Michelle Rodriguez says he’s the best male villain yet. I’m talking about Jason Momoa’s Dante Reyes, of course.
Speaking on Collider Ladies Night to promote the upcoming release of Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, Rodriguez said Momoa’s Reyes is the best male villain the Fast & Furious franchise has ever had.
“Revenge with a smirk. It sounds light, but when you see [the movie], you’ll know exactly what I’m talking about.

There's perhaps no other blockbuster series out there that can compete with the likes of the "Fast and Furious" movies when it comes to original and formidable villains. Remember the first film way back in 2001, in which Johnny Tran was a driver antagonist who was obsessed with Vin Diesel's Dominic Toretto? Or how about Deckard Shaw in "Furious 7," who was a driver antagonist obsessed with Dom Toretto? And let's not forget Cipher, the antagonist who mostly relies on AI to do her driving for her but is also obsessed with Dom Toretto.
Okay, fine, so the villains in this franchise have a history of being somewhat, uh, lacking and one-dimensional as far as motivations go. Chances are, it'll usually come down to people with a knack for driving really fast who also happen to have a pretty big grudge against everyone's favorite bald, muscle-bound driver extraordinaire and his family.

This article contains Fast and Furious franchise spoilers
Coinciding with its “bigger and louder” trend, The Fast and the Furious franchise significantly upped its villain game as the series progressed. Bad guys in the early entries are forgettably bland, but the latter films feature some incredible villains.
In this ranking, we’ve excluded characters who were antagonists but not true villains, heroes briefly coerced into turning heel, and garden variety henchmen. The caveat to this is the Shaw brothers, who were the villains of the sixth and seventh films but eventually allied with the heroes (we can only assume they were redeemed by the sheer power of Family). But since they were villains, they remain on the list.
14. Johnny Tran
The first The Fast and the Furious villain is also the worst one. Johnny Tran (Rick Yune) is an amalgamation of every high school bully ever put to film. He’s forgettable,...

When “The Fast and the Furious” came out in 2001, it was meant to be a high-octane summer popcorn flick.
To the surprise of almost everyone, the Universal movie went on be a huge hit, grossing $207.3 million worldwide. But even then, no one predicted that it would explode into the multi-billion dollar franchise that it is today — and became Universal’s biggest franchise of all time.
The original action film, starring the late Paul Walker, Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez and Jordana Brewster, celebrates its 15th anniversary on Wednesday, July 22.
TheWrap has gathered 15 fast facts about the original “Fast” film to celebrate its birthday.
1. Paul Walker had a crush on Jordana Brewster

It is written in the chronicles of our people that, long ago, in the days when the earth below and the sky above were as one, and the gods had not yet deserted the world of men, there was a film called The Fast and the Furious. And it is written that The Fast and the Furious begat 2 Fast 2 Furious, which begat The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, which begat Fast & Furious, which begat Fast Five, which begat Fast & Furious 6, although certain elders of the tribe insist that the latter film was actually titled Furious 6. Adding to the confusion,...

Fast & Furious 7 has already added several new faces to the crash-happy franchise, including Kurt Russell, Djimon Hounsou, Tony Jaa, and probably several hundred cars that will soon meet their destruction in a metropolitan fireball of automotive calamity. But the series isn’t forgetting its roots: EW has confirmed that Lucas Black — who memorably essayed the part of White Dude in The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift — will return for Fast & Furious 7.
Deadline originally reported that Black’s deal is actually for the next three Fasts, which implies that the franchise is world-building towards a genuine trilogy — a three-film saga...

It seems like only yesterday that Brian O'Conner (Paul Walker) walked up to Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) and inexplicably started a sentence with, "So check it out, it's like this," kicking off the first illegal street race in the "Fast and Furious" franchise ten minutes into "The Fast and the Furious" (2001). Alas, that was twelve years and many "the"s ago.

The Fast And The Furious star Rick Yune has filed a counter-suit against a British couple who claim he scammed them in a handbag sale.
The unnamed husband and wife from London sued Yune, who played gang leader Johnny Tran in the 2001 movie, over allegations they agreed to buy 10 Hermes Birkin purses from him last year.
They claim they handed over $198,000 (£124,000) for the first eight bags, but the goods never arrived.
Yune has now filed suit against the couple, claiming the bags were given to a man who works for them in Dubai and he is owed $95,000 (£59,000) for the final two accessories, which was promised upon their delivery, according to TMZ.com.
The lawsuit was filed at Los Angeles County Superior Court and suggests the star is seething after being painted as a "criminal" by the couple.

The Fast And The Furious star Rick Yune has been hit with a lawsuit accusing him of swindling more than $290,000 (£181,000) from a British couple.
The unnamed husband and wife from London are suing over claims they negotiated a deal with Yune, who played gang leader Johnny Tran in the 2001 blockbuster, to buy 10 Hermes Birkin handbags in October 2011.
According to the new lawsuit, filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court, the plaintiffs allege they wired $198,000 (£124,000) for the first eight bags, and promised to pay him another $95,000 (£59,000) for the final two accessories upon delivery.
The couple claims the purses were never received and Yune failed to return the cash, but a spokesperson for the star has denied their allegations - insisting the bags were delivered to one of the pair's employees, who may have taken them.
The representative tells TMZ.com, "Rick is not only a very successful actor and businessman, he is one of the most honest people out there. It's a shame someone is trying to tarnish his name and he has fallen victim to a scam."...

This summer, two of the most hard driving, piston-pounding movies of all time are taking another lap on the big screen with "Fast Five" (4/29) and "Cars 2" (6/24). Previous installments of both these franchises drove audiences to explosive levels of testosterone-injected excitement and mayhem!
