Clownhouse (1989)
Directed By: Victor Salva
Written By: Victor Salva
Starring: Nathan Forrest Winters (Casey), Brian McHugh (Geoffrey), Sam Rockwell (Randy), Michael Jerome West (Lunatic Cheezo), Byron Weible (Lunatic Bippo), David C. Reinnecker (Lunatic Dippo), Timothy Enos (Real Cheezo), Frank Diamanti (Real Bippo), Karl-Heinz Teuber (Real Dippo), Viletta Skillman (Mother), Gloria Belsky (Fortune Teller), Tom Mottram (Ringmaster), Erika (Storekeeper), Jasper Watts (Storekeeper Assistant), Bobby Salem (Booth Barker)
I had heard of this film in passing but never made the effort to actually watch it. I mostly know director Victor Salva from his work on the “Jeepers Creepers” movies. To my surprise, this movie is incredibly atmospheric and has just enough creep factor to make a person’s phobia of clowns increase.
The plot revolves around three young brothers who are alone while their parents are away. Shortly thereafter, some escaped mental patients murder some clowns...

It is a unique project that has been shot in 11 different cities of the world by collaboration among 11 directors. The film is said to be a ‘high-concept thriller’ and was conceived by Vikas Chandra, a filmmaker who was associated with Kavi, a short film that was nominated for the Oscars in 2010. Ranjan Singh, a film professional for over ten years came on board as a co-producer.
The budget of Project 11 was around 9 lakhs– entirely self-funded by the people behind the project. The 11 filmmakers who participated in this project were shortlisted through Facebook, Twitter and Skype. It wasn’t going to be an episodic film,...

Chicago - We’re approaching an entertainment apocalypse as the new four horsemen arrive on the hill: Redbox, Comcast, Marketeers and Spencer Pratt. In a decade, we’re going to be watching puppet shows on network TV and not even Jeff Dunham level puppet shows. But let’s give a run down of trainwrecks that will claim the lives of entertainment business models.
Redbox is a simple concept - a kiosk that allows you to rent a hot new DVD title for a $1 a day. There will be 20,000 of them across the country in grocery stores, drugstores and Wal-marts by the end of the year. They’re a mini-Blockbuster that’s doesn’t required a zit-faced dreamer to run the register. What’s the problem with Redbox? It’s killing to DVD sales market faster than Blockbuster and Netflix. Having Redbox inside Wal-Mart wrecks the impulse buying temptation of the giant sale bin.

Love it or hate it, Family Guy displays an uncanny knack of boiling something down to its essence for the sake of a 30 second pop culture gag that have become the show’s staple. So when they condensed bland teen drama One Tree Hill, now in its seventh season as an anchor of the CW Network, into the following exchange: “I’ve got so many problems.” / “Hey, nothing that can’t be fixed by staring at a lake.” You can pretty much fill out the rest yourself. It’s the kind of show that you can break from to spend three months backpacking through Asia, and still manage to get caught up in half an hour upon your return. It’s about decent middle-class Americans in the sleepy town of Tree Hill North Carolina and their daily battle against the worst possible soap opera conventions.
