In all, He played Prof. Harold Hill 2,008 times between 1958-63--more times than Robert Preston (who played the role on Broadway for 1,375 shows and starred in the film version, The Music Man (1962)).

- (7/16-21, 1974) Stage: Appeared in John P. O'Donnel's "Rock A Bye Daddy," in a Cherry County Playhouse production under the Dome at the Park Palace Hotel in Traverse City, MI, with Brooke Tucker in the cast. Ruth Bailey was founder and artistic director. Ben Janney was resident director.
